This was one of my favorite restaurant all together, been going here for a least 10 yearsbut it is not as good as it use to be, so every now and then I go back to see if the food is good again. Sometimes it is, sometimes its not. But I will still keep going back. Cause when it’s good ITS GOOD. CROSSING MY FINGERS EVERYTIME……….
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. The food is always very good and the service is friendly. They also are very good about keeping drinks filled, which is nice since I always get spicy dishes. The atmosphere is nice, as well. They usually have a game going on the TV behind the bar and the music is usually American top 40, which I don’t mind. I will say that my fianc and I are creatures of habit and always get the same dishes (I get tofu red curry and he gets chicken pad Thai) by we both love our dish and each other’s dish.
My family and I went to this place for my birthday and the food was fantastic. Many members of the party had never eaten Thia food before and if it had not my choice they still would not have. By the end of the night we had a table full of Thia food lovers. Even my kids loved the food.
Favorite Thai place, hands down. Consistently high quality. I’ve had a variety of curry dishes, stir fry, and fried rice– all were good. I also love the side salad. If this place was closer, I would go here all the time!
A (Thai Night) Birthday To Remember…. Just a quick ‘Note of Thanks’, to the most gracious / awesome staff, for all that was done to help celebrate my wife’s birthday last night… As always, the service was ‘top-notch’ and the meal was perfect. Also, for those who have never experienced their ‘Stuffed Chicken Wings’ (as we did for the first time last night), they are absolutely out-of-this world! I / we can’t wait until they are offered again… :-)06 Nov, 2013This place is rock-solid in their quality, their quantity, and their service. We have been eating Thai for many many years and always enjoyed going to the (original) Thai Place on 87th street… They take great pride in making sure that you’re satisfied & have the ‘best’ Jasmine Rice; hands down!
Yellow curry. The Curry was quite watery, no substance to it at all. The potatoes and chicken are bland like they were boiled in plain water and then just added to the curry a few moments before serving. The curry was super sweet, the sugar overwhelmed any spicy flavor they may have been going for, I did not taste any curry at all. It was quite hot, no complaints there. That was the single good thing about the dish, not enough to redeem it. The egg rolls were dripping with grease, placed on some cabbage in the box, there was raw cabbage stuck to them when I tried to take a bite. It was all very disappointing
Overpriced and Not All That. I don’t like doing negative reviews much, so I’ll keep it short. I had the soft spring rolls (Vietnamese) and the cococut soup with chicken. The spring rolls were very good, and the accompanying citrus sauce was ok. BUT, they were easily the most expensive spring rolls I’ve ever had in the KC area at $7.95. The coconut soup was just not good. It was WAY too sweet and the onions and lemongrass were raw and too tough to chew, as was some root that was in the soup. The chicken was flavorless and overcooked. To top it all off, the total bill with tax and tip was $20 just for soup and spring rolls! The food is much better and less expensive at Sweet Siam or any other place in town for that matter.
