Here is my review of The Basha located at 7016 W. 105thStreet, Overland Park KS. I went to eat there the other night. We went atdinner time, but there was only one other couple in a booth. All the ceilingfans in the restaurant were on, but it was still very hot in the restaurant,actually too hot to even eat. I even asked my waitress if the air conditioningwas broken, and she said no. Does Basha not realize that hot air rises andceiling fans only push the hot air down? Do they think that having 10 ceilingfans run is cheaper than turning down the Air conditioning?From the last time we were at this restaurant the priceshave all gone up one or two dollars per meal. When we received our meals, wealso noticed that the portions were easily about half of what they use to be.Even the quality has gone down, not to go into specifics. But, what reallybothered us was the small fruit type flies buzzing around our food when ourwaitress brought our food. I had to wonder if this many flies came out with thefood, how many flies are there in the kitchen. Eating out in restaurants on a daily basis Ive seen thistype of mentality before. Whereas you once had a thriving busy restaurant withgreat reviews, you tend to get greedy and start raising prices and cutting backon both quantity and quality hoping that your original good name will keep yougoing. You cant fool patrons continually. We will never return to thisrestaurant and will only watch with anticipation for its closure.
Decent Mediterranean cuisine around. Not so great and not so bad. Decent ambience. I felt the price a bit high than the usual Mediterranean around here. Decent choice in the menu
Incredible Sandwich. I eat there yesterday and had one of the best sandwich’s I have ever had. The chicken Shwarma was awesome. Kind of pricey, but worth it. I will drive back down from KCK to have it again.
We had several dishes and all were great. Especially liked the desserts. Service was very good too.
Disappointed…in many ways. We have enjoyed The Basha since it opened, but I believe they must be under new management? Had a Groupon for four entrees with the fine print stating that we needed to call ahead/advance notice for carryout. We did call ahead today and were told that we couldn’t have carryout without purchasing additional items (not in the Groupon details). I sent an e-mail to them via their website and it bounced back.
Prices go higher, quality goes down. Having been to the Basha since they opened, we thought what a great restaurant. The food is great, the prices are great, and the restaurant is great. How they flipped this around so quick is unbelievable. Our last visit we notices their prices went up by almost 50%, not to mention them charging you an extra $0.50 if you need a little more sauce. The food quality is easily down by 30 or 40%, but coming in there the other day on a hot 95 degree day, the restaurant, was empty, but it was very hot in the restaurant. When I mentioned it to the owner, he said he would turn up the ceiling fan. All the ceiling fan did was move the hot air around more. I will never come back.
Went with a Groupon which I thought was generous – 2 dinners for $15. Our server was very polite and helpful. And when we didn’t finish all the food she was very concerned that we weren’t happy with the food. We were happy, it was just that we had ordered an appetizer and we were leaving room for dessert! I would definitely return.
