Martinelli’s Little Italy is hands down my favorite restaurant. The food is amazing – the best in town. I am a big Italian food lover so I appreciate authentic dishes. They’re doing a great job here.
We just stopped at Martinelli’s on our drive from Colorado Springs to Oklahoma City. What a nice change from typical road trip fast food! We are traveling with a 4 year old and 2 year old who had already been on the road for about 5 hours, and martinellis was kid friendly while still being enjoyable for adults. Our food was delivered promptly, the portions were very gracious, and everything was delicious; good old Italian American food that hit the spot! All together it was just as quick as if we had stopped at some generic chain along the highway, but instead we got a glimpse of Salina and a refreshing break from the road. We will make this a regular stop when we travel the 35/70 route!
Best Italian In Wichita KS. I was entertaining 30 business clients in Wichita, KS- which is not my home city. The restaurant came highly recommended. Although I had my concerns of Italian in Wichita KS (not NY, PA, STL or BOSTON), I was ok to give it a try. The serve was incredible. The owner was friendly along with all the staff. The food was outstanding, which I am quite a critic to Italian food. The chopped salad alone was a meal. the pastas were a perfect balance of meat and spice. then finally, the deserts were over the top. I would highly recommend this on a visit to Wichita. They provide family owned pride of service, great food, incredible quality and quality food at a very reasonable price. I guarantee nobody will leave hungry. A dinner here will likely provide you with enough in the take home box for breakfast and lunch the following day.
Quality of Food has Suffered. I have eaten at Martinellis many times over the past several years and before last week, I have always been satisfied with the food and the service. Although the service was great, as usual, the quality of the food has plummeted since the last time I ate dinner there, this summer. I ordered the chicken piccata, one of my favorite Italian dishes, and was sorely disappointed to find what appeared to be a piece of chicken that looked and tasted as if it were constructed and compressed from several pieces of chicken scraps. The chicken was tough, dry and flavorless and the piccata sauce was bland with only a few capers added. The linguines Alfredo sauce tasted as if it had been reconstituted from a dehydrated blend of who-knows-what chemicals and preservatives. The bread was barely warm, and I have no idea what the ball of yellow fat was supposed to be, but I assume it was a whipped butter substitute.
Super impressed. Was looking for gluten-free real food while traversing Kansas on I-70, the food was delicious and the service incredible…when out of gluten free pizza crust, management went above and beyond to be sure we had an amazing meal enjoyed by kids and adults alike. We will be back! Highly recommend.
