Taco Republic is divine! Best street tacos I have had in Kansas City yet! Margaritas are perfect too! Order their queso dip as an appetizer and ask for their jalapeo pure to add. Perfect!

There must be magic in this area! Everyone knows the next door neighbor but this place is just as good! I have brought many family/friends here and they are all blown alway- as am I! The salsa is rustic and delicious! The tacos are fun to mix and match- I usually end up with a variety: beer braised (slightly greasy-but to be expected), pulled chicken (smokey in the best way). You just can’t go wrong here! They have a small but great selection of craft beer- boulevard, but also one of my favs- Abita Purple Haze! Do not skip the dessert!
We have been here several times: the first time they were badly short-handed. However, they’ve been fantastic and fast every time since then. Their pork belly tacos are fantastic, but we really haven’t had a bad taco. Their dessert churros with a chocolatey sauce are so worth it! The service is usually pretty good as well. We do think they are a bit on the pricey side, but we’ll be back anyways because the combos are so tasty.
I’ve had ground beef tacos off their taco truck which I remember I thought were delicious so I suggested the office try them out for carry out one day. It was a regretful experience. Everything on their menu sounds absolutely delicious, but I can’t say I actually enjoyed anything that I ordered. The tacos were packaged sloppily and lacked flavor. I paid more than $3 per taco and after three I still wasn’t full. I’ve heard some people say it’s better if you eat it there, but I can’t say I’m in a rush to try them again anytime soon.
I completely love their chicken and ground beef tacos. I also ADORE the cheesecake chimichangas, which I hadn’t really seen anywhere outside of the Southwest until now. So happy to have this place as my neighborhood taco joint! Seriously, I live right down the street! wannabgourmande.com
