This place is delicious. Best Cajun food I’ve had hands down. Not only the best, but massive portions. It’s good leftover also. One of our favorite restaurants to visit here.
Piss poor service… owner was lucky we left a tip at all…followed me to my car to ask for more money. Pathetic! Won’t be returning and will make sure that I tell everyone I meet not to go. Food is mediocre to say the least.

Poor Customer Service, Bothered by you wanting to eat there!. I went in to try Da Cajun Shak at lunch today – not even in the rush hour, but at 11:15. Good luck trying to get service at this shak. Apparently there are only two people working and neither wants to help anyone. They refuse to take to go orders, and are just plain RUDE.There are so many choices for food in Wichita – Stay far away from this place!Shak properly describes the place was dirty, the employees were rude, the wait was way too long. I will not ever go back!
Very poor service. You have to wait to be seated. You have to wait an extraordinary long time to order. When you do order I will admit the food is good however the wait staff does not check with you to see how your food is. Then when you need a refill they will walk by you several times to the point that you have to ask for the refill and when you do they will kick you out of the restaurant. I am posting this to alert the general public of this unprofessional behavior and so they don’t experience the unprofessional behavior I experienced. Way to go Cajun shak you lost a customer that has been coming to your restaurant since 2008. My friends will never be there either. I can’t imagine how many customers you lost when you treated me like that when they were there. I have been in the costomer service field for 20 years and I have never ever treated a customer like that.GOOD LUCKANDGOOD BYE
Really almost everything fried??? No green tomatoes, hell I buy a couple of deep fryers coat everything with Walmart cajun seasoning and call it cajun, really, greasy bland over priced crap, ever hear of roux? Wichita has no cajun food, and this ain’t cajun, it’s bulk bought cheap cuts with tony chacheres seasoning and tobasco and called cajun, visitors wait for your heart attack, this is based on 2 trips party trying almost everything on menu, it’s the same as calling long John silvers good seafood, everything has same taste cause its deep fried in same oil
Seriously good Cajun / Creole / Southern food!. We were very impressed and completely satisfied with our meals at Da Cajun Shak. I had the lunch portion of the Cajun meatloaf and my wife had the red beans and rice. Both portions were huge and very tasty, hers was so big she brought more than half of it home. Prices are rock bottom and portions are enormous. The service was a little slow, but the waitstaff was very friendly and personable. We will be returning again for certain.
