Pretty good burger
Good breakfast! Yum!
Good Food, Crappy Service. We go there for the food, but not very often because the service is horribly slow. You will be seated and then forgotten about. Takes forever for someone to take your order, glasses are never refilled, takes forever to get a check as you have to get up and go ask someone to find your waitress in order to get the ticket. Unfortunately this happens every time so we know the service is always bad so we only go there when we have a ton of time to waste. Like I said, the food is great.
Jimmy is going to make Me fat. The first time that I ate at Jimmies Diner I had the 2/3 lb burger and fries with an Orange Fizz. It was so good that I had to have it again, in the same sitting I had another Burger, Fries, and a Cherry Phosphate. After the second round I hadn’t had enough so I ordered one of the best banana splits that I have had in my life and followed it up with two pieces of pie a la mode. I have never eaten anything at Jimmies that I didn’t enjoy. I always leave with a full stomach and an empty wallet. As a matter of fact my server told me that he’s never seen anyone eat so much. You’d think they’d name a burger after me. This is my favorite place to eat in Wichita. :DAnother perk is that it’s near Chuck E. Cheese’s which means that I can actually go eat good food and then take the kids to Chuck E Cheese’s just for the games.
Better Breakfast than Lunch. This is a real old style dinner. It even looks like a road side dinner from the 1950’s. It was originally built as one of the dinners that started what became the Whitecastle burger chain. It has also been featured on a TV food program or two. We went there with high hopes of a good classic American dinner or cafe meal. What we found in three visits was average quality food and average service. We did notice that most people were ordering breakfast, while we were ordering lunch and dinner items. On one trip we took the in-laws, and they ordered breakfast. They said their food was quite good.
Great breakfast place. Step back in time. Been going to Sunday morning breakfasts here for years. It has always been good but seemed to be slipping a little bit about a year ago but has corrected since. Always enjoy the spanish omelete. Family likes the pancakes and sweet potato pancakes when available.
Outstanding food and service. This is a local treasure of when food had a taste and was not mass produced. Worth the trip everytime. The Blue Plate rocks!!
