Kanai has great sushi! Unfortunately their hours are crap and I’ve gone on 3 separate occasions to find out they’ve booked a private party and were closed. Adding to this their location is not convenient, so I just don’t attempt to go any longer.
LOVE it!. Now that I’ve tried 3 different sushi restaurants in Wichita, I’ve tasted enough to know that Kanai is my favorite of those 3 for certain. The fish was less mushy, the rolls were lovely and tasted yummy, and the wasabi was excellent – on all of the occasions I’ve been here, which includes Mother’s Day, which is always a challenging time. It may be a tad pricier than some of the others but you really get what you pay for. We can never decide on which one dish to get, so we always order two per person and then share – and have leftovers for an entire extra meal. Addicting!
Bland. The menu lacks variety and many of the rolls have the same tastes.
Always Enjoy!. We are regulars at Kanai and simply love it. If you’ve not tried it, you’ll be glad you did – simply the best in Wichita!

Good sushi with many selections. The sushi is awesome!! It was very nice inside! Traditional sushi but the selection was wonderful!! they had many things that no other place [I’ve found] has like squid salad, jellyfish, but the best was the baby octopus with teriyaki sauce!! Never thought I would enjoy it but the sauce made it awesome!!
