One of the Two Best Pho Restaurants in Town. Between My Tho and Pho Hien, these are the two best Pho restaurants in town. What sets My Tho apart from Pho Hien though is their service and friendliness. The gentlemen here are very nice and always positive and upbeat. Always a great experience with great food at My Tho. wichitabyeb.com
I can’t stop eating here!!. My BF introduced me to My Tho’s about a month ago, and I ask him at least once a week to go eat there! The food is amazing, and the service is great! They are so nice and make you feel right at home. This place is a must if you haven’t already tried it!!!!
Great Food, Friendly Service. Love the #22 soup – it’s awesome. I’m a typical anglo Kansan meat and potatoes guy, but I always crave My Tho when I have been out of town and come home. I wish they were open 7 days per week though, as I seem to always get home on the day they are closed. Newly remodeled inside and looks great. The boys that run it are the most courteous people in a Wichita restaurant. I also wish they had spring rolls, but I love all of what they serve and there are many choices…the Vietnamese Stew is also great! I am also always stuffed when I leave! Can’t get enough My Tho!
Wichita’s Pho Choices are Lacking. First of all, this review is about the pho only. I cannot comment on the other dishes. So we first went to My Tho on a recommendation and in search of great pho in Wichita. I have lived here almost three years and pho is one of my top five favorite foods so I have tried A LOT of places. My boyfriend and I went to My Tho and our observations were as follows: broth was ok, meat was seriously skimped on, and we were shocked they did not have any spring, summer or Vietnamese egg rolls. First Vietnamese restaurant we’ve ever been to that didn’t have these items as appetizers. So we felt the menu was very limited. Like I said, there wasn’t that much meat in our bowls. I felt the broth was decent, so I had hopes that maybe the meat thing was a fluke.I went back a second time probably a year or so later with a friend and nope, unfortunately it was about the same experience. Skimped on meat and the broth was even more bland and mediocre than the first time. So I doubt I will ever return to My Tho. After eating at nearly every Vietnamese place in town, I have to say that I think I’ve concluded that Wichitans are just missing out on truly great pho. That is the only way I can explain why this place would have such great ratings…Just for reference, I am a pho aficionado, and my boyfriend is Vietnamese and we basically unanimously agree when it comes to pho. He is from the Dallas area and I am originally from OK. OKC has a surprisingly huge Asian district and one of the regions largest Viet populations (outside of the largest cities like Dallas). If you want really great pho and you are ever in OKC, go to Pho Lien Hoa. I even know native Wichitans who somehow knew of that place and whenever they go to OKC make a point to stop there.
The best Pho in town hands down. The broth seriously has crack in it! Since the new rebuild I’ve made it a priority to go there every Thursday during lunch time to satisfy my cravings!
Tried for the first time today 10/15/12. The Pho’ had a good taste. Ordered the Pho’ with brisket only, wasn’t crazy about trying some with tendon. The brisket was mostly very thin slices of fat, so just picked out the meat. Make sure you take cash, they only accept cash.
Thicker meat DUDE!. The food was ok. nothing really special but i wish they would be a little generous and cut the damn meat a little thicker. dammit!
