When we first pull up I was kind of nervous because it look pack. We were seated quickly and served drunks fairly quick. I was expecting a wait on the sushi because it was crowded but it came quick. Sushi was great! The hardest part was deciding what I wanted with so many different selections but the food fantastic.
When I came there was only one other table occupied. The server was prompt, helpful in suggestions and attentive. After he dropped our food at the table he checked on us a couple more times. Service was good. The food was also good. Prior to this I’ve only been to Fuji. I can definitely tell this place is much better than Fuji. Their menu offers more variety and the food taste better.
Before going to this restaurant, we checked online to see what time they closed. With at least an hour before their closing time, we headed to the restaurant. It was approximately 9:10 when we walked in, but both the door and online said they closed at 10. The open sign was turned off, we were greeted by a server telling us we had ten minutes to order. Being servers ourselves in town, we understood that we would be in and out before they closed. We were rushed by all of the waitstaff even after we ordered two minutes after being seated. A number of people walked in after us, and were turned down for service. The manager (who was wearing flip flops) turned down a couple who walked in about ten minutes after us, and then proceeded to complain with the servers behind the faux tree wall. Servers were literally running from the bar to the tables with food, clearing off tables while we were still eating, and kept rushing us as we ate. We left 15 minutes before they were supposed to close, and the manager sat watching TV in her flip flops as we left. Any restaurant I have ever worked at (that isn’t a bar), took tables until the closing time.Of course, THE FOOD IS ALWAYS DELICIOUS. But the service was so incredibly terrible that I will have to be bribed to return to this location. I have never had a bad experience at the Old Town/Downtown location on Douglas, but we decided to try the one closer to us, on Rock Road.Never again.
My experience. Decided to go to the wasabi on east since it is closer than the west side to my house. Showed up and waited about five minutes to be seated when barely anyone was there due to the servers talking in the back. Then once our order was taken, it took about twenty five minutes to get our food simply because the chef seemed to be busy talking with the servers. Not to mention we had ordered shrimp tempura as an appetizer and never received it. Also, our waiter finally dropped off our food and never checked on us again. So drinks never got refilled, food wait too long, lazy servers, and overall terrible experience. Never going back. I will stick to the west side only.
Terrible first impression. I absolutely love the west Wasabi, so I thought I’d give this a try since I was already on the east side.. There wasn’t a single table in the entire building at 11:30am, and all I wanted was a take away order. The server was friendly, but then him and the chef just kept talking about their personal lives while I was sitting there waiting.. Then they started discussing what ingredients were supposed to go in to my sushi roll, which neither of them really knew or even took the time to look at a menu to double check. Come to find out, they left out the shrimp tempura, which is basically the main item in the roll, and the crunchy stuff on top. My rice also kept falling apart, making it a huge hassle to eat it.. so needless to say, my first experience with this restaurant was not the best..
Tempora Battered Sushi. Amazimg the Stonehenge is awsome!!!
Service was good. Food out fast, delicious. I highly recommend the Japanese Burrito.
