Service is horrible. Has got to be one of the worse places I’ve been to. Don’t get me wrong the food is good and they get your order out very timely however the waiters are a different story. This is the second time I’ve been and they have not only missed my order up twice but this time the waitress told me that the order she put in is what I was getting. Are you kidding me? And when I spoke to the manager she just shunned me off. I won’t be coming back here.

Very good hibachi! Tempura California Rolls are off the chain. Yamato in Corbin is the best Japanese restaurant within 100 square miles. It just sucks that we live in Somerset….send the cooks to the one here!!!!

Not bad….. The food is good, the atmosphere, not so much. I really prefer to get the food as take-out. Not found of the inside of the restaurant….Very small, no privacy, tables are crowded in together due to the small confines. I have never ordered anything there I didn’t like. The tempura California roll is awesome.

Pat Durham. OMG the best I have ever had , It will leave you Craving for more. I was very skeptical at first when my daughter first took me there, But I gave in and went, Glad she took me,, The table soup was Delicious, The Volcano Roll addicting … I even had to take my daughter one back all the way to Oklahoma for she can’t get one down there. It handles the ride well ..Well 1/2 of it made it there, ,,wink wink.. It was a long drive and I did say they are addicting. A must try, and every bit WORTH the money. .Thank you for sharing your Love of food, for I enjoyed it extremely….

It’s ok. Wish I had been more adventurous & tried some sushi. We got the hibachi chicken, beef, & shrimp…was on the sweet side. The soup & salad that came with it were good. The menu doesn’t explain much & the girl that waited on us didn’t speak much English. There were local girls there too. Service was good.

Nothing Special. If you’re looking for a 5 star sushi restaurant or a crazy japanese steakhouse with many hibachi cooking stations, this isn’t the place to go.However, living close to the Yamato as I do, there isn’t another restaurant serving made-to-order sushi or hibachi for another 60 miles. That’s right. So when you choose Yamato, keep in mind that you’re that far away from Japanese cuisine. So the food. Salads and house dressing are a 10. Miso soup is delectable. Hibachi has a surprisingly subtle flavor without overpowering the proteins served. The sushi hand rolls are about a 6 out of ten, the special rolls are about a 9 out of ten, and the nigiri sushi is an 8 out of ten. If you’re interested in a special house roll, try the hot lover.Overall, great food. Really, it is great despite other reviews. However…It is a small mom and pop type place that has a nice decor. The restrooms are a 7 out of 10 and the atmosphere is inviting and quiet. A cute sushi bar and one visible large hibachi grill at the front of house.Oh yeah, and if I must say so, the restaurant does need a scrub down. Tables may be sticky along with table accessories. (salt, pepper, house sauce, programs, and menus.)Service is really great. The people there are usually pleasant and quick to serve. Prices are quite low for japanese food. However, the prices do have a good reflection of food quality.Hibachi – Lunch 6-12 – Dinner 8-15Sushi – 4 – 12 – entre – 17- 25Great place for family, no alcohol or obnoxious crowd. Great place for sushi beginners (I began my sushi eating here =)
