Mixed Emotions. Great decor. I mean GREAT decor. Food is excellent when owner/husband is the chef, not so good when he is absent. Wife/owner runs the dining area. She really needs to find another occupation as she creates chaos. Bottom line is good food and poor service.
These folks have the Euopean ans Mediteranian cooking down very well. The salads were excellent, the snitzel divine and the chocolate mouse pie light and tasty. Ee eil be going back on our next visit.
My wife and I at Kreso’s for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good, the service was great, and it was priced well ($30 for two adults). The bourbon bar is second to none – over 150 bourbons to select from. They had rate bottles of bourbon that make bourbon enthusiasts envious. I didn’t try any, so I didn’t see how they were priced. The setting is an old theatre very elegant and eclectic. – worth a visit.
European Restaurant In Bardstown. Who would have thought you would find a neat European restaurant in downtown Bardstown, Kentucky that would make you think you were in a quaint European dining room somewhere in Europe. We were told we had to visit the place and to take lots of money. The restaurant is in the downtown main street area (actually Third Street). We parked on the street about a block away as there were lost of people just out walking the street and dropping into various restaurants and there are several in that small area. The restaurant is typical European style and the prices on the high side I think for a small town. Not so much so for a large city. Try the Wiener Schnitzel for about $17 or the Cordon Blue for around $18. Many customers were ordering the Kreso Angus Burger. Also available are steaks and seafood. Both are very good. Order the scalloped potatoes. The wait service is very good and the dining room a pleasant experience. There is a complete bar with most any Kentucky whiskey available. After all we are in Kentucky.
Had their burger for lunch, seasoning was fabulous, service was excellent.
Delicious. Stopped in for lunch & had the Ruben. Place was almost deserted so, service was accordingly prompt. Very friendly staff.. Sandwich was great.
The white lasagna is nice, but fairly oily. The jger schnizel is topped with cheese, mushrooms, a thin but meaty brown sauce, and, best of all, country ham. (After all, what goes better with pork than ham?) I got buttered egg noodles on the side, which were nice (but spaetzle would be even better!).
