  An amazing trip for my father’s 60th birthday. A comfortable and unique dining experience in KY, with a four-course meal, beautiful scenery, pleasant service, and great company! The dinner is extremely enjoyable, has a perfect pace to it, and exceeds expectations. An assortment of crackers, accompanied by garlic butter and orange spice jam, await as you are seated, with warm rolls and butter to quickly follow. After salads, many delicious entree options are available, such as prime rib, served with a baked potato or pork rib-eye, served with fresh vegetables and mashed sweet potatoes. Finally, dessert arrives – your choice of a piece of rich bourbon pecan pie, a filling apple dumpling, a piece of savory chocolate cheesecake or a piece of refreshing blackberry pie.

  Overpriced! Was wanting to surprise my husband with a unique and romantic dinner for his birthday. We were sitting with two other ladies and there was a loud, obnoxious woman behind us yelling the entire time. Scenery was disappointing. Food was average…his prime rib was ordered to he cooked medium but was basically well done when he got it. My shrimp and grits were pretty good though. There was supposed to be a candle and song with his dessert (called twice to confirm) but none of that happened for him. However two other people got the candle and song for them. Our waitress was out of it tonight…maybe having a bad night but her service was horrible. For the price, I was expecting a lot more. Will not go back here unfortunately 🙁

  Tourist. I had reservations for six on the My Old Kentucky Dinner Train on August 30, 2011. It was pricey at $60.00 each but at the conclusion of the train ride all of my party felt it was very much worth the price and the event made for a great visit to Bardstown. The service was first class and the food was outstanding! The train ride on the 1940’s vintage train was a unique experience and we were all so very glad that we scheduled this activity. I have been recommending the Old Kentucky Dinner Train to everyone I know. I guarentee you will not be dis-satisfied with this experience. We drove over three hours to get there. It was worth the trip!!

  Can’t Afford It. I would really love to try the dinner train, but I just can’t afford it – lunch for 2 is $120 and dinner for 2 is $150. I’d rather eat somewhere that was affordable and then have some money left over to do something else while visiting Bardstown.

  Wonderful experience. Our daughter and her husband took my husband and I on the dinner train for our birthdays. This was one of my husbands request to do. The service was excellent and the dinner was wonderful. The waitress that took care of us, should train others she was fantastic. Over all our experience was more than we expected.thank you

  Unique Experience. You are served a four course meal while riding the train on a 2 hour excursion through Bardstown. I loved the whole experience and felt as if I were being served a gourmet meal aboard a first class train :)I personally recommend the prime rib entree! You can choose from several different entrees but I think this is the best….the portion is huge and so tender that I really didn’t need to use my knife. You can choose to ride the lunch or the dinner times but the dinner meal is better. I can’t wait to go again 🙂
