Nice Atmosphere and Good Prices. This place is usually packed on the weekend’s, so expect to wait if you don’t arrive a little after 5pm. The food is pretty good, depending on what you order. The BBQ Chicken Salad is spectacular and the grilled catfish is good too, along with the fish tacos. Grilled chicken is not the greatest when ordered as an entree and side items are somewhat lacking. I hear the steaks are good at great prices too. Service can be slow, especially during busy times. Those few menu items mentioned above are enough to keep me coming back.

Unbelievable horrendous service. No drink refills, bread at end of meal, salads with meal. Waitress who kept saying unfortunately for everything we asked for…unfortunately we don’t have coke, unfortunately bread is in oven, unfortunately I forgot your cocktail sauce. Fortunately I will never eat here again.

Worst service ever at any reaturant- over 45 minutes for my food and was told a manager would come see me which never happened – I got to eat like half my baked potato (which we were told you all were out of until I mentioned the lady next to us had one) and 2 bits of my chicken before I had to go– I got it free but that was the least you all could do- probably will never be there again unless I have all day to wait for my food

Poor poor poor service. We used to eat here Alot but with all the restaurants around town to choose from it has been about 4 weeks since we were here last- we went on 3-14-14 and had to wait for a waitress but that was ok because it only took about 10 minutes- she was slower than a snail and acted like she didn’t know what she was really doing- after we ordered it took about 10-15 minutes to get our food ( besides mine which took over 45 minutes to get)- also the waitress came over and said my food took so long because there were no baked potatoes or mashed potatoes (which the lady next to us was eating a baked potato ( she finally came back after I mentioned that and said they had baked potatoes now)- also was told the manager would come to the table because of the long delay (no manager ever showed up at all)– I did get my food free but considering I could only eat a few bits and take the rest then I sure would hope so- it will be a long time (if ever) before I come back – please for your sake get your act together

WTF. One of the servers there told me some crazy information that I asked for.He/she said that to be a server there, they are forced to share three percent NOT from their tips but of their SALES. So if you go there and buy $100.00, the server then has to pay $3.00 to the employees that the company REFUSES to pay minimum wage, hosts, bartenders, utensil rollers, food runners, bussers that are all paid $5 .Three percent of sales may not sound like much , but when you’re turning tables as a server it adds up quick, on average ends up being 20 to 30 percent of their tips. The server said in this state, this practice is illegal, and sure enough I looked it up and viola – KRS 337.065 – they are indeed in violation of state labor laws. On top of that servers are STILL only paid $2.13 an hour, after taxes, they don’t usually get a check, this is terrible considering at the majority of servers there are college students. The next startling thing I was informed, was that the entire kitchen staff is Hispanic at the bowling green branch. I looked that up too, KRS 12.080, violation of equal opportunity law. Attention needs to be given to these issues and I will never be eating at any crooked cheddars ever again or any food service that operates under these kind of draconian practices, stealing from servers, shame on you cheddars. If you do choose to eat there, give them a good tip even if they are bad, they are surely having a worse day than you. Then I look around at the decadent looking establishment, and giant fish tank, paid for by servers. I left him/her a $20 of which I’m sure they only saw $2, just a ridiculous greed ridden corporate company.

Fine for Many Apparently. I just don’t like their food here.I see tons of people who really like it–students, other groups, families, and I have no problem with this…it’s just, I’ve ordered several different meals here, and I didn’t like any of them. The steaks I ordered were among the worst I’ve ever had–the type where the manager comes out and give you some malarky about ‘marbling’, in excuse for an extreme amount of chewy fat in the steak. I didn’t bother–I know good steaks, both kinds I ordered here, and you can find better, and cook better, in the local Walmart and on your stovetop, so…that’s where I’ll be before I order that again, here. The chicken sandwich, and the chicken fingers I ordered, on two other occasions, were also really not very good at all…a little stringy, not really well prepared, totally lacking in flavor or appeal of any kind…dry (so were the fries–VERY dry, actually, and tasteless, too). The service here has always been miserable–again, FOR ME–I’ve noticed it every time I came in (4 visits, anywhere from 2 to 6 people, anytime from 4pm-9pm, weekdays, or weekends). The place is always packed (again…?), and we were seated in anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes (that was a Sunday afternoon). Servers were always fairly cold, and just lacking in a general ‘warm’ attitude.Once more–‘sorry’, I just feel like my group was always overlooked in this category, as well–we’re not off-putting, or stingy tippers, at all–we’re dressed in everything from shorts and casual, to ‘Sunday best’, so…?I see a ton of WKU students there–including many who WALK all the way from WKU’s local parking lot, crossing one of the busiest (and potentially dangerous) intersections in the city, to get there…again, to me, it’s just odd that so many seem so enthralled in eating here; I have noticed the crowd is always chatty here, so maybe everyone just doesn’t have time to really be ‘rating’ what they’re eating on some hierarchical basis…whatever, to me, this place will always represent some kind of ‘Appleby’s phenomenon’ that just escapes me somehow. My final word on this place is that I’d rather eat many other places within a similar price range, for food, atmosphere, pricing, and service: sports bars, affordable ‘family dining’ spots, even buffets are more appealing to me, than ‘Cheddar’s’.
