Great waiter tonight. Nice young man! Loved my penne dish. But the pork special had very tough meat and it was just a plain dish for a special I thought. It would have been a nice touch to have some bread or fancy crackers served with the salad. It would help with the nice tangy dressing. Just a little special touch where you feel the price is worth it. I will go back as I love the homemade sauces and signature dishes. Wish I had tried the creme brle. Love the house.
A Happy Birthday gone wrong. Off to our favorite restaurant last night. We were celebrating a birthday. I had amassed over the summer 4 coupons and therefor I thought dinner paid for…….WRONG ! I purchased 2x $25.00 and 2x $30.00 coupons for The Bistro. It did say I could use only one per check. This was fine as I told our waitress what we would be doing and that we would need to have separate checks. When it came time to pay, the rules changed. We were told it was now 1 per table!! Oh and I forgot to mention the $25.00 coupons were expiring on the 18th ! The food. My husband and I love escargot and frequently prepare them at home. DO NOT have them at The Bistro. They were not over cooked and rubbery but the presentation and accompanying sauce was disgusting. It was cloying sweet and had large chunks of tomato all this served over two large pieces of grilled bread. This was capped of with truffle butter. Hummm, no truffle butter flavor, I think they must have bought a miss-marked product! I love truffles and the flavor was just not there! The portion size has changed too. My husband and I had the veal Bistro. The serving size has always been 2 pieces, not any more just 1. My daughter’s salmon also 1/2 half the size. She told our lovely server about a nut allergy, as the potatoes are served with a pesto sauce. She was served the potatoes pesto too. She was unable to eat them as well as the vegetables since they touched. This was such a disappointment. My husband and I will not return, so sad, we used to love this place and have even taken groups of friends there for many a different celebration. Our waitress was divine. She was VERY apologetic, very attentive and knowledgeable. In case you wonder what do I know about food, I have owned a 4 star French restaurant and have cooked many a complicated, and simple meals. I am a foodie and love flavors and love trying new dishes. The Bistro’s dishes will not be among them anymore! Oh and you might wonder if I stiffed our waitress, NO, I ONLY tip on SERVICE, and that was excellent. Thank you.
Excellent service, everyone is friendly. Downside was it is very dark on back patio, hard to see food. Ordered bistro salad, ate two bites of chicken, super dry!!! Like microwaved chicken. My companions food was excellent. Received a 2nd salad, was as dry as first one, hard to chew the chicken. I ended up not eating anything here, but it was still pleasant having a glass of wine. Not sure if I would eat here again, but a glass of wine yes.
Get the tilapia. Hooooly crapanoly!
Great food and service! We will be back for sure! Oh yea get the cherry chocolate cheesecake amazing!
Simply Divine!. Simply Divine. The service is prompt, courteous, and smart. Our waitress, Chrissy, did very well and was knowledgeable about the menu. The food is delicious. We had the bacon wrapped dates (sweet and rich) and the crab beignets (excellent) for an appetizer. I had the Black Truffle Pork Tenderloin for the entree; simply out of this world. The house-made bread pudding was excellent. The temperature of the food was always on point as well. The decor is CLEAN! Very clean indeed. The seats are comfortable and the tables and nicely finished in dark wood with some having inlays of marble. I would DEFINITELY go back! I loved it!
Had the most amazing Valentines Day dinner ever there last night!! The tortileeni was so delicious and the filet mignon was the best ever!! The service was awesome!!!! This restaurantis a must for any special evening!!!!
