Yep… I ordered a couple of sushi hand rolls from here to go some time ago. I was wearing a sweat suit. The hostess commented that if I wanted to wait in my car, they’d bring the order out to me when it’s ready. How nice. I have never been back.

Absolutely horrible sushi. standard rolls served with malone’s smugness. plastic rice and substandard fish.but I ordered sushi at a steakhouse, so perhaps the onus is on me.

Funky sushi. Seriously plasticky sushi. You can do MUCH better in Lexington if you’re willing to go off the beaten path. Never see Japanese in Malone’s sushi bar, which is an immediate tip-off. Malone’s should stick to American food. The one star on Aqua’s menu is the calamari salad, which is my son’s favorite.

Bad Combination. First off this sushi isn’t very authentic and the ordering can be extremely difficult. I have given Aqua numerous chances, but I still leave unhappy with my complete experience.Maybe Malone’s should stick with one cuisine and do it successfully!!

This is some of my favorite sushi I have ever eaten. Lexington is starting to become a lot more accepting of sushi and this is a great place to start. They have a little bit of something for everyone. Tame, all cooked rolls for beginners and sashimi or complex rolls for sushi lovers. They get creative too. Try the crab Rangoon roll… Think a cross between California roll and a Chinese crab Rangoon. And you can bet it’s always fresh. Would definately recommend to friends.

OK sushi (from a steakhouse). Malone’s is a nice steakhouse, no argument about that. However venturing into the realm of sushi seems to be a little bit of a stretch for them. I would stick to a slightly more traditional place for Sushi in Lexington. After the suggestion of others I gave Aqua a try and I had tuna sashimi that seemed less than fresh and yellowtail nigiri which was pretty good. My girlfriend just had a basic California roll, which was heavy on rice and light on flavor. Also, the price is highly underrated at one $. The prices aren’t bad here, but the nigiri and sushi are only sold in 3 piece orders. So two orders of tuna is going to cost you at least $13, which is using ‘cheap eats’ a little loosely.
