Great displays and space, with friendly service. The atmosphere of Bluegrass Baking entices you to purchase and try everything your eyes see and nose smells!I have wanted to stop by for years, and am glad that I finally did. I ordered chocolate chip and sugar cookies, as well as an apple pie. Although I have had better cookies in town, the apple pie was top notch.I should have read the reviews below before visiting so I would have known to sample some of the bread and pastries, which are apparently some of the items they do best. With the Holiday season quickly approaching, I will be stopping by more often!
This is a special place for us, either for breakfast or to get a treat.+ The chocolate croissant, if available, is what we often go for first+ The best blackberry danish I’ve every had+ The tarts are good as well
Wonderful Bakery. I know a visiting university student from France who longed for the bread from back home. She thought the grocery store, mass produced bread was the only thing available in the States. I gave her a French Batard from the Bluegrass Baking Company and restored her view of American food. She said it was very good and reminded her of home. I’ve also sampled a wide variety of their pastries. All are delicious, but my favorite is the ganache tart. If you love chocolate, you must try it!
Like it.. Good stuff. Good folks, Enough said.
I am a big fan of the ciabatta and focaccia, and the apricot white chocolate scones are awesome!
Fabulous. Great place. Everything we have tried has been great, especially the Rye breads. The staff is very helpfully and kind. One bit of advice is to get there early, especially on the weekends or else your favorite may be gone. Most breads are about $3.00-$3.50, which is very reasonable. Live this place.
Best Bakery in Town!. Before you read this review you must understand something first; I am a bakery junkie. I search out bakeries wherever I travel in both the US and out of country. I will drive out of my way for good bread and pastry. I took a two-week class at King Arthur Flour in Vermont just because I love baking! With that being said I am so pleased to have Bluegrass Baking Company in our fair city. I know a lot of people buy BGBC bread at the co-op or Liquor Barn, but you really must go to their bakery and treat yourself to their laminated dough. Their croissants are out of this world. The Almond Croissant is hands down the best I have had ANYWHERE! Eating locally has never been so tasty! Keep up the good work of offering our community real artisan bread, it’s appreciated.
