Poor fish quality at Captain D’s in Nicholasville, Ky.. Captain D’s used to have the best fish anywhere. Within the past year or so the quality has deteriorated. The portions are much smaller and sometimes there is more breading than fish. This is twice in one week. Sorry you have lost me as a customer.
Senior specials. I use to eat there every Sunday and most Wed. I always got the Senior Special #1 or #2. I noticed the fish on these have changed the last month. I don’t like the taste anymore. Last Sunday I noticed alot of the regulars were not there. They had been discussing the change with me, also. Captain D’s needs to know this, tell why they chANGED or go back to the other fish. I did ask once but got an answer something about frozen fish. I did not understand but it seems it has hurt their business. It certainly has with me. Thank you. Claudia Flynn
Pretty Good.. This Captain D’s takes their time to prepare your food properly. It is full of flavor and not heavily greasy. It tastes pretty fresh, it hasn’t been sitting under those heat leamps all day. I’ll be back.
A Very Good Captain D’s. In my experience, not all Captain D’s are create equal, but this is one of the good ones.No, it’s not great, it’s cheap fried fish–what do you want? But honestly, they do fried fish as well as most of the sit down seafood restaurants in town (unfortunately that’s an insult to sit down restarants more than a compliment to Captain D’s). And the prices at Captain D’s are a lot cheaper.We find tons of Captain D’s coupon in the paper all the time and with those you can eat at Captain’s D’s as cheaply as most fast food burger joints (cheaper than some), and the choices are a lot healthiers.Side items include side salad, steamed brocolli, green beans, corn on the cob, baked potato, fried okra, and mac and cheese in additon to the standard fires, hush puupies and slaw. (Unfortunately his location does not offer the roasted red potatoes that some Captain D’s do.) It’s not all health food, but there are some options in there that are a lot lower calorie that french fries!Plus kids meal’s come with a choice of any side so with all those choices it’s not hard to find something kids will eat.Other Captain D’s offer all these things, but some have poor service, but I never have a problem with this one so as fast food goes, I recommend it.
Very Surprisingly Good!. Wow! Used to eat here years ago and it was ok.. nothing special.. But now if you want good seafood, on skewers, USA salmon, lots of other fish with fresh ingredients, cole slaw, beans, rolls, you name it.. You gotta come here.. Sure you can drive down the road to to another joint and spend 4 times the price.. Thats your call there.. But if you just went bing spending on stuff you dont need and now you just got abit left, drop on in and swim a few laps through the sea to get your catch..
