I love this bakery. They have done multiple birthday cakes for my family and each time I have been thrilled with the look and taste. Never again will I be buying a grocery store cake. They just don’t compare!
Not as good as I’d hoped. As a fan of local businesses and also a woman with a huge sweet tooth, I wanted to like Caramanda’s… but, having given them three chances, I can say that I’m not a fan. I’ve tried many of their flavors, and have found that the cake itself is consistantly drier and coarser than I prefer. Also, I don’t care for their buttercream icing… it leaves a greasy type of coating in my mouth. I hate to say it, but I’ve gotten similar quality cupcakes at grocery store chains for much cheaper. The only standout cupcake flavor that I really enjoyed was the carrot cake with the cream cheese icing. I love caramel, but the cupcake didn’t live up to my expectations. The caramel topping was chewy and stuck to my teeth. I do have to say that the employees at the Southland location have been much more welcoming than those at the mall kiosk, who have seemed bored and unfriendly. In particular, a young man working at Southland was kind enough to go into the back and ice some fresh cupcakes for me when the person in front of me ordered the last caramel cupcake in the case. I really appreciated his customer service and willingness to please!
Great cupcakes. In my opinion Caramanda’s cupcakes are the best. Of all the cupcakes I have ever had they are my favorite. When I visit my daughter at UK and I bring homr Caramanda’s everybody wins:) Favorite flavors are the fall ones! Pumpkin!n YUM!
Hands down best cupcakes in Lexington. They would win only for the red velvet cupcakes, but the others are also ridiculously amazing and 100% worth the trip to Southland to get them!
