My order – BBQ sandwich was good as well as the potato salad but the green beans were nasty! They tasted like my sandwich. Green beans need to taste like green beans.
I’m not in the main stream as far as written reviews on City BBQ but I pretty much agree with the 3.1 rating. Nothing bad here but expensive. They rush you when you need to take time to figure out the menu. As far as chains go, Sonny’s and Dickie’s have this way beat.
This is a good City BBQ restaurant. + You get a good amount of food for a fair price.+ I like the smoked turkey and side salad options when you want to be a little healthier (and both are good!)- The corn pudding is very high in trans fat.
Yes, City BBQ is a chain, but in my opinion, Lexington has few quality local BBQ options (other than Wagon Bones and Blue Door, and at times Billy’s), so I often frequent City where I know I can get consistently good meats and sides, such as pulled pork, turkey breast, pulled chicken, corn pudding, etc. Convenient, consistent and friendly!
