4/28/2016 – Dad’s. Good stuff! I love the #5 – the Chipolte Cheddar Roast Beef. Dipping the sandwich in the au jus is criminal. My advice is to take a bite without dipping and dip on the next bite – it offers an entire new dimension to the sandwich.I like to see Dad in the restaurants – he is always talking to the customers and wants to ensure everything is awesome.

Wonderful food and impeccable service. We got to sample all the cheese spreads so we would know what to order. Everything was just perfect! Nothing needs to change

Dad’s is THE sandwich place in Lexington – consistently offering top-notch sandwich combinations and daily specials that make you want to visit 5 days a week. In my opinion, the second location downtown was much needed, especially after garnering its cult-like following at the original location. I do agree with reviewers below that (1) the line can often be long, so if you can arrive for a later lunch, then that is probably best, and (2) the portions can be small (but to be honest, I would probably complain if the portions were doubled because I would still want more). I have tried the Smokey Pimento BLT (white or wheat toast), the Pepper Jack Club (country ham, smoked turkey, and bacon on a French roll with lettuce and tomato), and the Pulled Pork BBQ (the Friday special) (on a kaiser roll with Dad’s chipotle cheddar cheese and Dad’s honey lime cole slaw). I will be returning to try all of the remaining sandwiches! In the meantime, I will check out its spreads from the grocery.

Absolutely incredible food. I just discovered them a week ago, so I’m slowly going through the menu. I have yet to try anything that was less than excellent. The staff is friendly, but they’re busy so don’t expect to be in and out in 5 minutes if you show up at noon. I can usually manage it at 11 though. It’s well worth the wait.

Dad’s – tasty, but time consuming. Dad’s deliver’s a tasty sandwich indeed. Though, with the trek I made, hours of operation (11-3pm only) and portion size, it doesn’t attract me enough to be a regular customer. I tried the green turkey chilli sandwich with a side of burgoo and an iced tea. All very good, but I didn’t feel very full afterwards. A larger side portion or thicker bread would have done the trick. Total cost for a meal will run you roughly $10 per person. What really makes the sandwich is the cheese – the sandwich itself is a simple concept with a nice cheese spread. Superb customer service and nice addition to the Lane Allen shopping area, as they’ve needed a boost in foot traffic for several years. Get there before the rush, and they’re happy to let you sample anything you want. Congrats to Dad’s and looking forward to their new location in downtown Lexington.

Word has gotten out, and now many people know about Dad’s!+ Customer service – You can really tell that this team is trying hard and focused on the customer. It’s great to see that passion.+ Great food – My favorite is the #2.+ Good deal/reasonable pricesAny negatives? There is no restroom. It can get busy at lunch. And they are open only M-F and only for lunch. But these are minor to me. With the above positives, I still like it and will continue to go back.

I found this place courtesy of Yelp! The staff was so friendly. We sampled the different cheese spreads. We both had the chipotle roast beef. So yummy!!! We will be back soon!!
