STANDARD MEXICAN FARE. This is standard Mexican fare–I think the restaurant would be better if they cleaned up a little. Steak fajitas were good–meat seasoned well but too many large pieces of green peppers and tough onion skin [part of the peel].I’d go back but have to study the menu a bit longer.
I think you need to be an authentic Mexican to enjoy. They speak no English. The refried beans had absolutely no flavor. Need some salt or animal base! The taco shells tasted like water and flour, a good glue base, with no flavor and gummy texture. The quarter chicken had feathers attached to it. We have eaten Mexican food all over the US, but this was scary. The worst part was the 4 tvs blasting WWF wrestling way too loud! Our server was nice!
My Favorite Mexican in Lex. This is my go-to Mexican place. I always get the Guanabana milkshake (if they have it) and Jarritos if they don’t. The Atomiko is a giant pile of delicious meat, but they have great tacos if I want something that might have some sort of vegetables in addition to my delicious meat. The pork tacos are excellent.
Great, cheap, tacos!. I got three tacos here for lunch, one pork, one sausage, one barbacoa. All three were FILLED with tons of meat, very good deal for $2 each! The best one by far was the pork (el pastor?), so flavorful and the pineapple on top really set it off. They also included a green and red salsa, the red was too spicy for me, but the green was really flavorful and good. Service was quick and friendly, I will go back.
Best tacos I’ve had in a long time!I read the reviews and had to try this place. I’ve been craving tacos al pastor for a while. This place is the jewel of the Northside. Everything was fresh, piping hot and loaded with great flavor. I had the tacos al pastor and I tried the tacos al birria. Both outstanding. The pastor is competitive for best in town. I had the rice and beans, neither of which was seasoned very well. If you go and order rice and beans, you will be much happier if you add some salt and in-house made salsa. My husband had the burrito with pork leg in chipotle sauce. There were bones in the meat, which was kind of weird, but the flavor was amazing. The service was friendly enough, but the waitress seemed a little harried. Husband had tamarind soda and I had horchata. All in all, a very good experience. If you’re looking for good tacos and you haven’t tried this place, I highly recommend it. I will be back, but I will do as one reviewer said and skip the rice and beans in favor of another taco.
