Extremely basic Mexican. It was decent, over priced in my opinion. Servers were all very nonchalant. Not my fave, & probably won’t go back. WAY better Mexican in the area.
The food here is excellent as is the service. Ask for Carlos … He’s the best!!! Nachos grande with fajita steak is a great appetizer and if you like mole order the enchiladas mole. One if the best Mexican restaurants in Lexington!
Service has always been friendly, but not our favorite option for Tex-Mex, especially considering that El Rancho is just up the road, which we prefer for Tex-Mex.
+ Consistency is king here. I have confidence I will have a good experience when I go.+ Good service/nice staff+ Good food but rather typical selection- I wish there were healthier options here, especially more veggies
El Toro is the best place for fajitas in town. Their salsa and chips are really good too! I love this place it’s one of my top two tex-mex places in town!
Always delicious food and great service. We are regulars. 2 for 1 margaritas every day.
I visit LEX for business and during the last 12 visits I have been on a search for the best Mexican restaurant. I live in Texas. Looking for Mex in Lex sounds like an oxymoron, but I have been surprised by the number of Mex restaurants in the area. So far, none have come close to the restaurants in TX. El Toro service I quick and almost too attentive. There were three staff that came by to ask if I was ready to order. I prefer one server, not 3. Here’s the quick review:Chips – goodSalsa – needs help, add their tomatillo sauce (spicy) and add a little salt. Queso- good but also blandSide of jalapeos – biggest and mildest pickled jalapeos I’ve ever seen (the server looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for a side of jalapeos). Chili Colorado – (I ordered and ordered spicy because of the previous reviews) horrible. The beef was slices thin and still tough as shoe leather. Spicy yes, but not flavor. It needs both. Had it been tender or flavorful, I would have enjoyed it Beans & rice – typical, both good. Margaritas – the best part of the entire meal. Actually, if I had time to drink more before I got my meals, the review would have been better.
