Great food at a great price!! The staff was very friendly and were willing to offer suggestions and describe flavors. I had the Ella’s Fav chicken tenders, great flavor that was sweet then spicy, but they have flavors to fit what everyone wants! You can tell they put a lot of care into the food they make. Definitely will be back!
I had heard a lot about this restaurantand I was excited to hear what the hype was about. It was extremely busy at lunch with the line going out the door. I ordered the quarter chicken with mac and cheese and parm fries for my sides. I like how they have different kinds of soft drinks available for you to choose from. I would say that the food tastes great but the prices don’t match up with the quantity of food. Everything was great but with the wait and lack of food I was given I just wasn’t impressed. Also, parking is like pulling teeth. They have about half the amount of spaces they need to accommodate the demand. I would love to return in about 3-6 months and update this review with a higher score.
WOW! Amazing !!! Best fried chicken I’ve EVER had. Enjoyed he Tweener spice level and it was perfect. I love the slight upfront sweetness you get when tasting the chicken, then comes the heat. Had the parm/garlic fries, Mac & cheese (super cheesy), kale salad, and potato salad. All sides were great as well. This is a must try for everyone who loves fried chicken !!!
Just about couldn’t be better. The chicken is so unbelievably tender and moist, while crunchy on the outside. ALL of the sides we tried were fantastic–especially the broccoli slaw and the black eyed pea salad. The best part might be the service, though. Super nice staff that seem to enjoy their work. Will definitely be back!
2/18/16 Excited to have another Tennessee staple open in Lexington in the form of hot chicken. Hot chicken is a specialty of the Nashville area – Hattie B’s, probably one of the best. I’ve also eaten Rocky’s Hot Chicken (Asheville).Todays lunch consisted of the Quarter White Hot, fries, mac & cheese, and drink (something unique is Joellas serves Boylan soda I like a restaurant that doesnt follow status quo). The food came up fast.For those who dont know, hot chicken is served on a piece of white bread which is not eaten but rather used to soak the oil out of the chicken while eating. The chicken and breading had a good punch, but still not as hot as some Ive eaten. The two sides were very good I love thin cut fries and Joellas are great and seasoned well. The mac & cheese was also a keeper only better at Hattie Bs (the pimento mac & cheese is divine). The sweet tea is also very good a well-rounded meal!The only negative comment I have is the chicken was a bit oilier than it should have been. Probably because the oil was not up to temp when immersed in the oil or it was almost fried out. All said, Joellas is very good and Ill be back!
