Absolutely the worst breakfast experience I've had in a long time. Food was subpar, and the wait staff rushed us out. Extremely over priced. For a loc…

Average at best. Grossly overpriced. Ran more like a stock yard (get em in, get em out) than a restaurant. Not worth the wait because they are the onl…

Another downgrade. An every week lunch spot. I asked for a few (and I mean few… ) fries. I am unable to eat much due to surgery and I happily pay their prices and then throw a lot of food away. They sent me an extra plate of fries and charged me $3.00. I ate 12 fries (I counted) Servers are great, soup generally not so great and whatever decision was involved in my fry experience was the least great.Apr 26, 2012Rated Decent place. The grouper fingers are pretty good. Most breakfast items look like what I cook at home. Overall I recommend. I wish they had left part of the 2nd level. Difficult to get in at lunch with limited seating. Popular with the older set.Sept 2015Mikie Steve They need to work on their soup. This is an every Wednesday lunch spot for us. Really??? Cream of Squash Soup??
Good little breakfast joint. The biscuits and gravy are my favorite. Always get it to go and I’ve always been satisfied! The portions are the biggest but flavor is great!
Josie’s for Breakfast is always a great choice! This weekend I went and ordered their special and as usual it fabulous! If you’re going on the weekends I suggest getting there a little early as it can be really busy! The local feel and casual atmosphere makes you feel right at home! This is always my go to brunch or breakfast with the girls!
Update (March, 2016): We recently dropped our rating due to long waits, service issues and disappointing cuisine. On our most recent visit, my wife ordered the biscuits (seemed frozen) and gravy (extremely bland), and although my waffle was outstanding (as always), Josie’s is still using packaged syrup. My egg (over-easy) was good enough, but the bacon was slightly overcooked (better bacon can be found elsewhere, such as Alfalfa’s or Windy Corner).Josie’s is our favorite breakfast spot in Lexington. My only complaint – there is very little room to wait for a table, which can become uncomfortable if the restaurant is packed and the weather is bad. Most recently, we ordered the chocolate chip pancakes (buttermilk pancakes that truly melt in your mouth), served with whipped butter, whipped cream and syrup (I wish the syrup was made in-house or at least local). We also ordered biscuits, bacon, turkey sausage and eggs (over easy). In the past, we have also tried the crispy and light waffles, which are my favorite in town; the organic granola (layered with low fat yogurt and often blueberries and strawberries); the egg white omelet (spinach, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms), served with dry wheat berry toast; burger (8 oz. fresh angus on a toasted bun, with lettuce, tomato and cheese); zesty chicken sandwich (grilled chicken breast with banana peppers and spicy pepper jack cheese on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato). We visit as often as we can.
Rude employees and no concept of service. This was by far the most unpleasant breakfast experience of my life, and a huge letdown based on what others said. The lady at the breakfast bar was quite sorry with us and rude. I almost asked if she was having a bad day giving her the benefit of the doubt. She cut us of while we were asking her a question and assumed we were asking something else, then walked off. We then decided we would wait for a table. Once we sat down, we mentioned to our young server (Evelyn?) What happened and she said the woman is usually nice. We then asked about modifying a dish very slightly due to dietary restrictions and was told that they wouldn’t do it. You can’t modify anything on their menu on a weekend, apparently unless you have a lengthy conversation with the manager-who was nowhere to be found. We left, and informed the server on the way out. She said the lady at the bar is usually short and rude with people, but not bad once you get to know her. Unfortunately for them she won’t get another chance. We drove far out of the way to visit Josie’s, and only walked out with empty belies and a terrible experience
Food. Hummus, zero flavor. Looked liked whipped sweet potato. Fish. Zero taste. Fries hot and fresh. Pasta/chicken. Zero flavor. Dinner a zero. I have eaten here before. It was so so. Clean bright and service ok. Food was ok. Not this time. Be a long time before I return
Best breakfast in Lexington! I had the quiche of the day with a side of cheesy grits. My friend had a pan cake that was perfectly made (light & fluffy.)
