Le Matin French Bakery

  • Absolutely the rudest business owner I've ever encountered. We were meeting there for a meetup group and he kicked us out when he felt we'd been there…

  • Rudest service in town, and just for some mediocre pastries. The owner seems to not like customers, he should go ahead and retire because this busines…

  • Around the corner from my office... I like the seemingly authenticity of things like the chocolate croissant. Pretty good cookies and other baked good…

Not impressed. Not very friendly. Cash and checks only. There were only two customers in there during lunch time. Will not return. Not French at all.

Service. If you enjoy having people just blatantly lie and tell you they no longer make a certain item, then you will love this place. The owner is not even close to being French and apparently doesn’t t actually make a lot of the items.

I went for the vegetarian sandwich. Salt & pepper seem to be foreign for most of the restaurants in lexington. This was no different. This sandwich just missed. It was flat, the ingredients needed to be mixed with a vinaigrette or rice wine vinegar, or anything to brighten the flavors. Or simply add s & p. we also had the jambone & swiss panini. Ham had great flavor, just needed to have more then 4 very thin slices on the sandwich. The bread was grilled perfectly. Great crunch. Wild rice & dried fruit salad. Over cooked old rice. Again flat flavor. Needed to be seasoned.

Mediocre. I went to Zuni to try the vegetarian sandwich that everyone raved about. It was mediocre at best; the artichoke hearts overpowered everything. While I didn’t try any of the desserts or pastries, none of them looked that great and the selection seemed rather limited.

Dlicieux!!. All sandwiches are made on the French baguettes that are made fresh daily in the bakery next door. Options include Veggie, Turkey Cranberry, Prosciutto, Soppressata, Jambon, Beef Tenderloin, Paninis, and usually a special sandwich… all amazing! The bread is perfection! You’ll think you’re in France while tasting it. Ingredients are always fresh tasting and unique. Daily soups and salads are always a pleasure and there are entrees such as chicken and rice salad, eggplant, and quiche that are delightful. We love coming here! You can also get pastries and croissants from the bakery to eat in the cafe. A Lexington classic in Chevy Chase… the business has been there for 27 years. Takes cash and checks and now credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) for over $20. Prices are very affordable, but it’ll be easy to reach $20 when you see the selection, especially the cakes! Yum!

Veggie Sandwich!!. My mother and I went on a quest about 5 yrs ago to find the best Veggie sandwich in town. Zuni blew them all out of the water.

  • Ragazza Bella

Not just for breakfast. One of my favorite places to go for lunch and one of Lexington’s best-kept secrets. The food is fantastic, as are the drinks. My favorite thing to get there is the Italian soda. Unlike most places, the ice in Zuni’s Italian sodas is blended. The consistency is similar to a smoothie or Icee, but with a fresh, carbonated twist. The baguette bread their sandwiches are served on is fantastic, and I highly recommend their vegetarian sandwich. The blend of sauces, vegetables, and cheese is sure to leave you craving more.
