My favorite Mexican food. This is my absolute favorite spot for lunch in Lexington. I read some reviews and don’t understand how people have had inconsistent service or food quality. I work here nearby any here up to three times a week and have never had a poor experience with either. I always get a pork burrito with green sauce and a taco of some sort. It’s tastier and a lot of sit down Mexican places here in Lexington and the way they wrap the burritos in aluminum foil thanks very easy to eat fire driving.

Very good. Tried it the other day for the first time. The guacamole is excellent. Steak tacos and Cheese casadia were wonderful.

Bland! Poor service. Never again.. I have been to Maria’s dozens of times. Today I went for take out for my co workers. I ordered and paid for Guacamole and chips but they were out of chips. I asked if my order was complete before accepting the sacks of food only to get all the way back to work to find what I ordered was missing. Everyone was finished eating when I returned. I sat alone eating a very plain lunch cause the most excellent Guac was all gone. Maria, you lost me as a regular.

Oh how I wanted to like this place. I’ve really wanted to like Maria’s Kitchen, and I have tried it many times, but I have decided to not go there any more.+ Authentic+ A much different menu than a place like Taco Bell+ You get two salsas to choose from- Personally, to my taste, the food is only fair- I wish the tacos/gorditas/burritos had more complexity to them, like more veggies- I unwrapped the chicken quesadilla I got today and quickly identified the smell: old chicken. A couple of bites confirmed it. It was inedible.

They serve DRY, OLD meat. First time at Maria’s Kitchen and it was terrible. The steak was so dry, hard, chewy and old we could not eat it and threw it away. We bought steak quesadillas, steak tacos, and a steak burrito so it was a complete waste of money. The tongue tacos were decent but we only got 2 of them. All four of us decided we would not go back to Maria’s ever again, especially since they overcharged us. We calculated an overcharge of ~$5.I’ve been trying the local taco restaurants all over town and so far my favorite place is Taqueria El Antojito. Fresh and tasty! Also, their quesadillas are more than cheese and meat, they add tomatoes and avocados. Maria’s is currently in last place on my list.

Wonderful barbacoa! Tastes just like the food I used to get in New Mexico!

Here’s Your Sign. A friend and I went by Maria’s the other day for lunch. This is not chips and salsa Tex Mex! I ordered standard Mexican fare, steak quesadilla and steak tacos. The flour tortillas were excellent and they packed a lot of steak in each of the items. I was surprised to get that much steak in a taco priced at $1.75. The steak was flavored well and cooked perfectly. I am a green salsa fan and Maria’s was one of the best I’ve had in some time.We were there about 10 minutes before the rush of Mexicans that came to eat at Maria’s. One knows the food is good when it draws people from the home country. Highly recommended!
