Love the cake! We got married June 26, 2015 and they made and delivery our wedding cake. Their price is very reasonable and each serving/ count was very generous! Jessica who worked with us was extremely nice and flexible with her time. The cake was beautiful on our wedding day and we didn’t have to worry about them at all. I didn’t have much time to eat at the wedding but I did remember the unbelievably tasty bite of cake I had! Remember to remind them to bring a box for the top though… they forgot to bring mine and I had a hard time taking the top home lol.
We have ordered from Mondelli’s for every party we have had in our family. My kids go crazy over the iced cookies. Definitely can taste the difference. Highly recommend checking it out.
Planner. My opinion Mondelli’s cakes were always wonderful tasting. A couple of years ago they created a grooms cake for a wedding I did and it was a great hit with the guests. I have a wedding scheduled in Lexington this year and though I’d give them a try again, so I scheduled a tasting for the bride. I have to admit I was taken back on how a bride is treated for a tasting. My experience is the baker (private or bakery) will normally have you seated in a certain area for a consult. In the number of years I’ve done planning I’ve never done a tasting standing at a counter out in the public eye. The tasting was done in about 20 minutes, fastest tasting I’ve ever been involved in.
The raspberry danish is fantastic. Very flaky and buttery with the perfect amount of crunch. The filling is not overly sweet. The wedding cookies are very good. Buttery and covered with lots of powered sugar. They taste just like the cookies my grandmother made.
Poor Customer Service!!!. We ordered a pumpkin pie and received terrible customer service both on the phone and in person. Once we got the pie home, it was just okay. Nothing special to it and very bland plus it was cracked. We wasted our gas and time. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone!!!
Yum!. When I was a little girl, my mom and I always got our birthday cakes from Mondelli’s. So, when I moved back to Lex after 20 years away, for my first birthday here, I was totally looking forward to another Mondelli’s cake. It was exactly as I remembered them. Delicious cake with a firm, made from scratch texture and perfect icing. They even made one up for me as I waited because my husband forgot to order it and when I went to get one myself, they were already out for the day. I thought that was above and beyond service and it saved my husband’s neck! 😉
Poor cake. I had a cake made for a birthday and it was dry and the icing was way to sweet. The design was pretty but the cake itself was not worth the price.
