I was thrilled to find authentic Cuban food here in Lexington. I spent over forty years in Miami and have really missed my favorite Cuban dishes. I hate eating from foam plates and cups so next visit I will take my cup with me so I can really enjoy Cafe Cubano. The menu is limited because, as the owner explained, most of his clientele aren’t familiar with the extensive Cuban varieties. They could expand the knowledge of the cuisine if they would run a special each week. I happen to love congris, masitas de puerco asado. The homemade bread is delicious but not very Cuban. This place will be our dining out list every week. The prices are a little high but are worth the money. They had my favorite soft drink, Materba. Don’t miss this dining experience.

Awesome little restaurant! Never knew it was there and it doesn’t look like much, but it was definitely authentic. It’s ran by a older Cuban couple that barley speak English but the food is always fresh and so good!

Terrific restaurant. Being there really took me back to the cuban restaurants of Florida. The Cuban Sandwich was pretty close to what you can get there, though the bread was a bit off. The flan was perfect 10/10 would eat again.

Bad. I was expecting some wonderful authentic cuban cuisine. I ordered the roast pork but instead I got a plate of bland loin chops that could have been made by someone that knew nothing about cuban cooking styles and could have been served in a high school lunchroom. The beans were good but thats really the only thing good I can say. It cost me $30 for that and a sandwich for my girlfriend. I will never eat here again and strongly recommend avoiding Old San Juan if you are looking for authentic cuban food.

Cortadito. Cuban expresso with milk. If you like latte’s the cortadito is very similar to this, only way better in my opinion.14 Nov, 2014LOVE IT!!. Best coffee I have ever had!! You have to try their cortadito’s (Cuban espresso with milk), they easily knock any coffee from starbucks out of the park. The prices are very affordable too. Everyone who works their is extremely friendly & welcoming. Their food is to die for too. If you are looking for authentic Cuban food without spending an arm & a leg, this is the place to go. I was very impressed with this place & I will most certainly be returning on a weekly basis for more coffee.

Sientes como familia!!!. Visiting this great out of the way diner delivers more than just delicious fresh cuban food! The sweet couple that owns and runsOld San Jaun, make you feel as if you are actually in their eat in kitchen at home! Their warm convetsation and service warms you as much as the delicious ciban sandwiches, ropa vila, or scrumptious flan! It is a definite must ecperience in Lexington!

Excellent. A friend and I ate here last night for the first time since in several months. Honestly the service was still slow (not a problem), but the food has really been kicked up a notch. I had one of the better shrimp dishes I’ve ever had in my life. My friends’ pork chops were also superb. Chef Alejandro chatted a while, nice fellow. I hope he makes it. We were the only patrons on this night
