Positive drive-thru experience, including friendly and quick service. I ordered the chicken tenders (mild), which were served with a biscuit. For my side, I ordered the mashed potatoes. Although I really enjoyed the flaky and warm buttermilk biscuit, as well as the potatoes smothered in Cajun gravy, I am simply not a fan of the breading used on the tenders. Overall, I will return to try more menu items, especially the sides, but I still prefer other restaurants as far as fast-casual fried chicken goes.
1/26/16 – As a proclaimed Southern man, I know Popeye’s Chicken while living in Alabama. It’s good. I hope this restaurant gets its act together.The front-end counter area is a train wreck – there’s two dozen people behind the counter and lines in front of each register. The wait time is horrible and unorganized (most of the lack of organization is because of the customers that stand in the $%#@ing way). Most restaurants run an invitation only customer trial to test the operation…not sure if this one did it or not. Doesn’t seem so.The food–spicy chicken was not spice balanced, meaning the chicken breading and flesh did not pickup the Cajun spice throughout. The dirty rice was extremely dry. I’ll try it a couple more times, but its got to get better because there’s better chicken in town.
