Tasty toppings, disappointing crust.. I have heard (and read) several good reviews in the past about Puccini’s pizza but had never tried it until tonight. I ordered a medium ‘Sweet Little Razorback’ which consists of pepperoni, smoked sausage, bacon, with basil and garlic. The toppings were plentiful and certainly tasty but with any pizza, the crust is the foundation that brings it all together.I must admit that I was somewhat surprised that the crust was mediocre and unremarkable at best. Simply put, I wish it had been better. But it is what it is. Bland and somewhat chewy. So the next time I return to Puccini’s I’ll stick with ordering the Chicken Piccata pasta or the Sicilian Sausage sandwich. I’ll reserve my pizza orders for other establishments in town
Garlic Bread and Garlic Butter,. Puccini’s has good food for the most part. Their pizza is excellent and their pasta is good as well. Chicken Marsala over potatoes, not so much, but overall it is good food. EXCEPT their garllc bread, Mama Puccini needs to show the kitchen how to make garlic bread, it is always a disappointment and that is why I rarely order anything but pizza. But tonight I decided to order some garlic sauce with my pizza, you know that little plastic cup that you can dip your crust into.It was horrendous. Please someone tell the kitchen you are supposed to cook the garlic before you add it to the butter. That’s right, the garlic was practically raw uggggg. And on top of that it seemed they used unsalted butter. Salt actually plays a significant role in cooking garlic, not only for taste but for the breakdown of the bitterness that will eventually sweeten the garlic. Cooking 101. Please Puccini’s fix it.
Eh…. The pizza isn’t half bad, the service is hit or miss, but who’s idea was it to put carrots in lasagna? That’s wrong, man. Just wrong.
Great Pizza. My family and I had dinner here a few weeks ago and the pizza was great. Prices were great too. Service was just ok. Defiantly returning.
Horrible Night for Pizza. Went with my little six year old girl for what I thought would be a great pizza at a great little place, boy was I disappointed! Not only was the service slow, but our garlic bread was brought cold, and our pizzas were sitting there for a while before someone brought them to us. From where we were sitting, the kitchen was in full view. The cooks were standing around, our waitress was nowhere to be found. The table behind us, were there before us, but were still waiting for a waitress to serve them. I used to own 4 pizzerias back in Missouri, and if the service was like that, I could have and would have closed shop for the simple fact that I didn’t care and this is how they made my little girl and I feel this evening. I couldn’t get a refill, and by that time I was so aggravated that all I wanted was a box and a check and that took forever to get. Needless to say, I was less than impressed with Puccini’s tonight and I will have to do a lot of thinking before I decide to ever go back again.
The service here is really bad and the food hurt our stomachs. I am sympathetic to slow service when it is busy, but we watched 3 waiters walk by us and not take our drink order for 10 minutes. Other waiters hung out at the kitchen and ignored the dining room. We were about to get up to leave when our waitress finally showed up. Empty glasses multiple times. We won’t be back.
I patronize Puccini’s quite often with my brother and it has become our favorite place for lunch. The food is great but that is not the biggest reason we continue to go there. The last couple of times we have sat in two different servers areas. The first was Betsy. She made our meal even better with her vibrant smile, willingness to make sure we were taken care of and most important thing of all her character was ing. We went back a few days later requesting to sit in her area and unfortunately for us it was her day off. So they placed us in Allen’s section. Little bummed that we would not receive a repeat with Betsy but that was ok. I was shocked when we received the exact same service from Allen. His character was amazing. I was well pleased that even though it was not the same server we still had a successful repeat. Puccini’s food is top notch and no recommendation needs to be made towards that. My only recommendation is that they hold all of there servers to the standards that Allen and Betsy hold themselves too. Happy Patron, Joshua Johns
