+ Excellent burritos. The best I have ever had.+ Great green salsa that is not too strong/spicy.+ Good torta. A little heavy on the mayo.+ Good pastor (pork). Flavorful and moist.+ Good tacos (traditional style w/ soft corn tortilla, onion, and cilantro).- Asada (steak) can be a little dry.- Got a 92 in their most recent restaurant inspection score. Hopefully they can bring that back up to what it had been.
As real as it gets!!. Luckily I have advanced experience with Mexican food.. Anybody that runs this place down doesnt know what they’re talking about… This is one of several spots for great Gorditas,Tortas,Tacos and the like.. Wknds are great there for Menudo,Caldo Res and other soups.. Try their aguas frescas too..
Overrated!. La Unica is waaaay better. As someone that has a moderate level of experience with local authentic Mexican cuisine I can tell you that they are half-assing it. Quality goes down while prices go up. The tripe is perfectly terrible. Please, go to La Unica instead
Best Burrito in the South (and East) according to Nationwide Burrito Bracket. Picked the best burrito in the South by Nate Sliver’s FiveThirtyEight (and has yet to be beat by entries from the rest of the country including Santa Fe, New Mexico).Quoting from the review:– The carne asada burrito from Tortilleria y Taqueria Ramirez in Lexington, Kentucky, which got a score of 91. The tortilla earned a perfect 20 (impressive but not entirely surprising, given the restaurant’s name), and the burrito did superbly in every other category as well.http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/some-restaurants-in-the-south-stretch-the-definition-of-burrito/#ramirezand here is the link to the overall search for the best burrito:http://fivethirtyeight.com/burrito/#brackets-view
I’ve never been to Mexico, but I assume this is what it would be like. Great food. Great prices.
Great Food!. I eat lunch here almost every Friday. I love their tacos, burritos, and quesadillas
The only difference between this place and mexico is the AC. My favorite place in town for tacos!
