Had lunch for the 1st time here. I ordered 1/2 salad, 1/2 soup. They are very over priced. My $7 half salad only had 2 tiny shrimp. Really?!? Come on …

I like it. Nice selection of salads. Especially like the chicken salad with added Blackberry sorghum dressing on the greens. I wasn’t a fan of the tomato soup because I didn’t like a spice in it. I can see where it’s freshness and taste would be appealing to many. One thought. I went by myself because I couldn’t get the guys in the office to go with me. Maybe expand the menu to have a meat wrap salad or something. Locally sourced meat (no tortilla or anything) wrapped around a specialty mix of greens to have a wider appeal. Just a thought. I hate eating alone.
I had my first Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen experience today and it was great! The staff were all friendly and helpful in answering my questions. I ordered the Chicken Taco Salad and was given extra dressing with it which was good since both the salsa vinaigrette and avocado cream were delicious!! Before my visit i signed up for their email list and the lemonade club and received a free lemonade. I chose the strawberry lemonade and it is amazing!! I recommend this place to any and all salad lovers or someone just looking for a lite but filling lunch.
7/11/2015 – Let’s get the negative out of the way–yes, it’s expensive. You’ve got to try the Bluegrass Blackberry salad. It is unbelievably good. The textures and flavors blend well together–the vinaigrette is awesome! I’ve added chicken and salami and both round out the salad. The lemonades are unique–for example, I had the blueberry mint and loved it. A few months ago, they had a blueberry ginger (I believe) and it was equally satisfying. I wish they’d get bigger cups!Great place–highly recommend!
Update (September, 2016): Another positive experience, with friendly service, refreshing strawberry lemonade, a fresh Bluegrass Blackberry Salad (spring mix, crumbled feta, strawberries, apple chips, pecans, with blackberry sorghum vinaigrette) and a hearty bowl of White Chicken Chili (chicken, onions, beans, green chiles, cilantro, lime and sour cream). Yes, this place is expensive, but at least your money is going toward fresh ingredients, unique salad and soup combinations and amazing teas and lemonades, most of which are super healthy for you! I have been here twice so far, and have been more than pleased both times.Extremely fresh ingredients, friendly service, convenient location and parking and an amazing music selection (including Iron & Wine and S. Stevens). My wife ordered the Bluegrass Breeze Sweet Tea and I ordered the Peppermint Lemonade (Vinaigrette prepares its own blends of seasonal lemonades and teas) both were flavorful and refreshing! I ordered the Pumpkin Bisque Soup (creamy pumpkin blend with ginger and garlic simmered in vegetable broth with curry, cayenne pepper and olive oil topped with croutons) and the Tuscan Salad (baby spinach, fresh mozzarella, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, red onions, ciabatta asiago croutons with Tuscan vinaigrette); my wife ordered the Acapulco Caesar Salad (chopped romaine, parmiggiano reggiano cheese, ciabatta asiago croutons). On my second visit, I ordered the Creamy Tomato Soup (slow simmered with basil and tarragon) and the Strawberry Lemonade, and yes … it was delicious.
Overpriced. Salads are average at best and way overpriced. The total cost for my wife and I to eat here was as much as a full meal at some steak restaurants.
We went to the new location downtown today. My only complaint would be that they had salad ingredients (rice noodles, croutons, etc.) sitting on the counter right next to the cash register. While the vegetable ingredients are protected behind a counter, these items were not. All I could think of as I was standing over them while I was paying for our meal was that they weren’t protected from someone who may cough or sneeze while standing there. I’m sorry but that set up is just not acceptable. All ingredients should be behind a counter out of reach (literally) from customers and not situated where they are exposed to the restaurant patrons. If I do return, before I order I will check to see if those ingredients are still kept in the same place. If they are I will not eat there.
Diner from Ohio. The food was fresh and wonderful. They were knowledgeable about the ingredients in each salad. I too wanted to try all the salads so came back several days in a row for lunch. I will suggest that they invest in trays to carry your items (when with elderly people or lunch mates there is too much to carry) however, the staff was so kind to assist while out hands were full. I am thinking they may also need more tables at some point… everyone I brought with me over the three days I ate there loved it. Thank you all so much for healthy fresh great food.
