For everything being made in house, this restaurant is a solid meh at best. I understand this is to be a Mexican/Tex-Mex style Restaurant. But there is much better out there.I got the Oven-Roasted Chicken Burrito with Queso Sauce…. for what it’s worth. The Decor is fun, the restaurant reminds me more of Cuba than Mexico though….
I usually love Chuy’s but I have had awful service at this location multiple times! I have had to send back cold food only to then be charged twice for the item on the bill! And this has happened twice! Sorry Chuys you may have good salsa and food but the service SUCKS!! Last time I come to this location.
The chips and salsa were delicious! I ordered the soft tacos with guacamole topping…they were just eh. I don’t really care for a lot of Mexican food so the menu was pretty limited for me (as opposed to Abuelo’s whose menu is still Mexican but more varied). The rest of my group seemed pretty happy with their food, and the decor was neat…just not the right food for me.
A Chi-Chi’s for the 21st century. I never went to Chi-Chi’s back in the day but i got a feeling that Chuy’s is what Chi-Chi’s would have evolved into if they had survived the new century.the atmosphere has a festive tropical feel with central American influences. the menu seemed authentic in nature with a variety of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc and a selection of salsas & such to choose from. the wait staff was helpful although the music was too hip-hoppy for music to dine to. the only things that got me was the prices, which for lunch, seemed higher than normal for tex-mex faire. and the food was more on the bland side than flavorful , the only that saved it was the assorted salsas. i’d go back it had the money to spend or if someone else was buying, otherwise i’d save some $$ and go to qdoba’s or don pablo’s.
Food is decent. Prices a tad high for quantity served. Decor is fun. The noise level robs all the enjoyment. So, my suggestion is to go during lunch.
