Updated review, don’t easte your money. Service was horrible and food was burnt black. Won’t return.20 Oct, 2012Really good BBQ and Brisket. Friendly wait staff and incredible decor/atmosphere. A bit pricey but worth it for a nice change feom the norm. Much better than Montgomery Inn in my opinion and I’ve had great BBQ all over the country.
I’d never been to a Famous Dave’s before so stopped by for lunch while traveling through. Delicious! One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Also some of the best service I’ve ever had. Ask for Beth!
Rib Tips Were Tough. I recently ordered Rib Tips, thinking that it would be a lighter option than some of the other meats, but what I got was a plate full of tough, chewy Pork that I had to wrestle from between a lot of bone and cartilage – and I’ve had Rib Tips at other restaurants that weren’t this way. I’ve enjoyed other meals at Famous Dave’s in the past, so I hold judgment for now, but I definitely won’t order the Rib Tips again! diningoutdfw.com

Stopped in on the way back from a Reds game as I loved this Famous Dave’s (even though it’s chainBBQ) when I lived in the area. REALLY DISAPPOINTED by the St. Louis Style Ribs, which were always good in the past. These had ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKE FLAVOR or rub, & had the taste & texture as though they were boiled & then finished on grill. Like their sides & sauces (wondrful fries & chips). Maybe they were short on product (though it wasn’t very crowded), & I might give Dave’s the benefit of the doubt (first bad visit out of 10 or so) but if I go back & the ribs are like that again, it will be my last visit.
Good, but was expecting better. Being a visitor in Kentucky, I went to Famous Dave’s – I’m glad that I went but I was looking more for that really good, mouth-watering, juice filled BBQ from here. The service was great as the waitress was friendly and brought me over these really good BBQ chips (unfortunately half had some staleness but the other half was good). I must say, I really enjoyed the 6 types of sauces that were at the table. My favorite one was actually the Sweet & Zesty and bought a bottle of it. I had a combo of the Georgia Chopped Pork (very good but wanted it juicier) and 1/3 rack of the St. Louis Ribs which was good but still stuck to the bone and was looking for more juice. The fries weren’t bad but thought they could be better. The corn muffin was excellent and could easy have those breakfast if they were opened early in the morning.
Excellent food, Service could be better. I recently visited Famous Dave’s for dinner on a weekend night. I had only eaten there two times before after living in KY for around 13 years. Most of the time we will stop at City BBQ for lunch or dinner instead. The meal we had there was good. We had the BBQ chips as the appetizer and I had rib tips and brisket with green beans and mashed potatoes. My portion was huge and I actually had left-overs which is very rare for me. My girlfriend had the pulled pork and enjoyed it. Her portion was large although not the size of mine. The meal came to more than $40. I got a soda and she got a water. Overall the place is pretty pricey but I would recommend it to anyone looking for BBQ. Especially since the other offerings in the area of NKY are limited. The service wasn’t so great. The hostess was very nice and made a recommendation but once we sat down and had to order our waitress seemed much more attentive to the other people and only checked on us a few times for refills and to see how everything was going. We didn’t see her for long periods of time. I’ll give Famous Dave’s another chance sometime though.
