I found Rick’s White Light Diner while exploring Frankfort. The food was delicious, the owner a pompous ass. I asked the man next to me what he recommended and he said to try the Po’ Boy. Before I could order, the owner asked if I had seen him on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’. I had not. After ordering he told me about the time he was on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’. As I was trying to enjoy what was HANDS DOWN the BEST Po’ Boy I’ve ever eaten, he again reminded me that he was on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’. Did I mention he was on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’? While a little on the $$$ side, the food was delicious. If you don’t mind hearing ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’ a half-dozen times while you eat, stop by. The food won’t disappoint.Be sure to check out Ricks White Light Diner on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’!

I had the scallop poor boy and it was sinfully food. The scallops were breaded in cornmeal (I’m guessing Weisenberger) and lightly fried. They were perfect. Was told they had been in Chesapeake Bay within the last 48 hours. The garlic roasted potatoes and BBQ black beans were excellent sides. The menu has a bit of sticker shock but don’t let that slow you down.

Quality fresh ingredients is the key to a good meal. The food here is a reflection of that. Well prepared each time.

Very nice surprise in Frankfort. I’ve eaten barbecue all around the country and Rick’s pulled pork is some of the best.. Great house made sauces and my fried green tomatoes were seasoned just right.. Hope to get back soon and try more from a pretty interesting menu.. The idiots bitching about the price obviously dont care if their food is local and from the great state of KY and are probably content with normal run of the mill garbage.. You can really taste the difference in fresh local meat and vegetables.. You get what you pay for and this place did not let me down.. highly recommended

We arrived before noon hoping to share a light meal since we weren’t really hungry but were intrigued by the DDD segment. While the food was indeed quite tasty and fresh, the quantity was lacking (this Rick admitted right up front) which made the price point seem quite high (for a sidewalk diner). The impression was driven home when they refused to serve a meal with dessert for us to share without a $5 extra plate fee and then offered only bottled water for $2 per when we asked. The good food was lost in the sense we were being gouged for the ‘privilege’ of eating there.

WOW!! $50 for one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Microwaved and terrible. The only bright spot was the fried banana peppers. This place won’t last another year.
