The burgers and sandwiches are great. The pizza I had was greasy because of cheap cheese but they have upgraded it since then. Salads could be better but have improved some since I started going there. They are moving down the street to a larger building with a better kitchen so I’m looking forward to more and even better.
4/22/2016 – I went to Galvin’s with a few friends this evening. It is a local joint that seems to be well loved by its residents – the place filled up pretty quick. I ordered a pizza with five toppings – I expected a 25 minute wait as per the menu, but was a bit longer because it was busy. After the wait, I would have eaten a corner of the table.I’ll break down the pizza as follows: toppings were good, the red sauce and cheese was good, the dough could have been better. It was tough. The sweet iced tea was out of a fountain, not brewed. Here are some of the reasons that I most likely would not return: (1) Galvin’s sells alcohol and you’ll always have loud, obnoxious people at the table beside you; (2) It is loud–too loud–and I found it very annoying; and (3) felt the service was a bit slow (I expected the food to be by the menu disclaimer).
First time visit today for lunch- wonderful! I had the club with homemade chips and my son had a philly with chips. Great food, service & price. My new favorite restaurant in Georgetown. Highly recommend.
Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. My family was vacationing from Illinois and happened to stop at Galvin’s for lunch. The service was excellent and I had the best Philly Cheese Sandwich ever! If I ever get back to George towne, I would certainly eat there again! All the sandwiches were delicious.
Good food, good prices, good atmosphere. My husband and I frequent Galvin’s about once a week. We’ve both liked everything we’ve ordered. The atmosphere is fun, especially when a sporting event is on. They have multiple TVs and projection screens. The staff is friendly and courteous. The loaded fries are awesome! My husband likes the Philly cheesesteak. The burgers are great, the salads are so-so, and the beverage choices are awesome.
Best around!. We have been here numerous times after getting stationed here in Lexington and yes—during the dinner rush they can get a little slow but no less attentive!!! They do a great job with the service, food and the prices can’t be beat!!! Oh—-did I forget to tell you about the ambiance, layout and decor is right there too!!!While we will try other places, this will be our main restaurant and bar in the area!!!
Good Times. I’ve been there on several occasions during both lunch and dinner times. It is typically busy– which is a good sign in my book. The atmosphere is very typical bar/grille BUT clean! The staff is always great and the service is a hit– even during peak hours. I’ve had everything from a salad (although small) to pizza, infamous Stromboli, bacon cheese fries, burgers and chicken sandwiches. They also have a decent beer selection. I wouldn’t say it’s always a great family environment around late dinner times– but I’m sure you could have guessed that. I always leave with a full tummy and a smile on my face!
