This is more like real Mexican food & not TexMex so it may not be as spicy as some would like but I liked it very much. Typical Mexican food like rice & beans are not spicy. The salsas add heat. Many Salsas are more of a fresh tomato &/or tomatillo which are more common in Mexico. The heat laden salsas are usually more common in Texas.
