Bland. Got shrimp hibachi lunch with spring rolls. The spring rolls were mushy inside, but comparable to other cheap Chinese carry-out. The hibachi lunch was mostly bland rice with a small portion of bland vegetables. The vegetables had a lot of barely cooked onions, some zucchini and not much else, one carrot slice and one mushroom slice. The shrimp were not bad, had a nice light sauce on them. For almost $10 for everything, I probably won’t be back.
Laughing at you. I like how people are complaining about it not being like Hibachi blah blah blah. Nothing in Japan is like what we have here in America. If I could tell you the countless times I went to Japan and someone cried and complained about it not being like in America, I would. This is the closest thing to Japanese food, besides Seki in Lexington, and it is great for the food and the price. Everyone always assumed fried rice is a thing ever Asian culture does but when I traveled I literally ate no friend rice. Just steamed rice. Don’t travel to Japan, China, Vietnam, Korea, Philippines, etc expecting all of this you’re use to in America. They aren’t what you think in other countries.
Inexpensive. I liked the price of the meals and sushi however- the fried rice didn’t have the typical flavor or added ingredients- such as peas, egg, carrots, onion, garlic- it was pretty bland. The hibachi chicken and shrimp was ok- but chicken was a little over cooked. I will give it one more try and see if the sushi is as good as it looks.
Great addition to Georgetown.. The yum yum sushi and the chicken kameski, fried rice, were delicious. Ate there last week, I’m going back now. Was looking up the number to call ahead and figured I’d write a review. I will be a frequent customer.
First time visitors. Our experience was wonderful! Very fresh, tasty and filling. we will come again!
Great Sushi.. I cannot speak for the Hibachi portion, other then it is rather cheap, but I have been here three times since the opening.I liked some of Kroger’s sushi but it fell apart rather easy, and just tasted bland. I’m new to the sushi scene but I have really taken a liking to it. The bengal roll is amazing, and so is the philly roll. I forget the other roll I have tried there, it was good, though.Today, I ordered and there was only two other people waiting on orders, both were hibachi, though. It only took 10 minutes to get it, so I’m assuming it is fresh and not being shoveled out of something being made that morning. Also, their kani cheese which is also called crab ragoons I think, are amazing. It comes with a cup of sweet and sour sauce and is just great. If you like sushi, I’d give it a try. I haven’t tried the Hibachi/Sushi restaurant on the other side of town but will soon. I’d give it 4/5 Stars.
Meh…. I was excited to see a Japanese Express open, but now I regret going. The steak really isn’t true steak, but more of a thick beef. I was concerned when I asked how the steak was going to be cooked. The cashier said the steak is so small that they can’t control the final temperature. Great… The rice wasn’t really fried rice, and the vegetables tasted old (we all got hibachi, no sushi or apps). Needless to say I won’t be going back.
