Food was mediocre and ribs were greasy. Service was rude and I swear every redneck and their brother gave us death glares when we walked in because we obviously weren’t the typical white family. Wouldn’t eat there again not to mention it’s overpriced. Go to the Woodshed!

I usually think you don’t get much better than Bar-B-Q Shack BBQ, but tonight my husband brought home a mutton plate for me for supper. It was horrible. Full of fat and not much flavor. Probably the worst meal I’ve had from there.
Very good service. Its one of the few places that still accepts checks. The pork BBQ mutton and baked beans were good but nothing to right home about. I would return.
Warm meal yes, distinctive taste no.The Bar-B-Q Shack offers beef, pork, mutton with side items of potato salad, green beans, white beans and a selection of pies. Eat in or drive through service is available. The taste is similar to a backyard Bar-b-que with a minimal smokiness to flavor in the in the meat. It is more or less cooked well but does not have a distinctive taste. Portion size has been reduced in recent months. Service is friendly. If you visit, expect a good meal but overall i would rate it as average because there is not a signature dish on the menu and the portions of meat servings have shrunken. Would eat it again.
Right Up There ( :. Being born and raised in western Kentucky and having grown up enjoying what I now know is some of the best BarBQ in the nation, I think the BarBQ here is great! I have lived in North Carolina (self proclaimed BarBQ capitol of the world – wrong), as well as having frequented BarBQ restaurants in Memphis, Kansas City, and Texas – that being said, western Kentucky BarBQ can hold it own for sure. In Hopkinsville the BarBQ Shack is defiantly the best, with Knockum Hill and the Wood Shed also being good choices. The BarBQ Shack has it all; pork, chicken, beef, and mutton – all excellently prepared (hickory smoked – low and slow), along with terrific BarBQ sauces.
Wonderful bar-b-q! Great menu selection. Good atomosphere. Their pork chop sandwich is a must try.
