The food is good, the atmosphere is average, the service is good. I could make this a regular stop but, the food is very pricey. Every item on the menu could easily be dropped by a dollar or two and it would become close to any average restaurant but still probably high then. I probably won’t ever go back.
This is a Jtown landmark. Reasonably priced pizza. Be sure to sign up for a coupon online before visiting to save a few dollars. The have a solid bar with drink specials. Big sports bar vibe. Their patio is the main draw in the spring and summer. In Jtown there aren’t many places with a liquor license so they make a killing on drinks. The breadsticks were large and flavorful lots of garlic. The pizza isn’t the best I’ve ever had but it blows the delivery guys out of the water. The pizza is really cheesy! It was served very hot and the cheese was kinda hard to cut. Sauce is alright nothing to brag about. On the whole it was great we’ll be back.
My friend goes here all the time. I went with. It looks like a standard bar. She ordered a drink – no name – special mixture that they made for her. It was delicious. I ordered a burger as well. The patty seemed store bought, but overall the burger was pretty good. The fries were really good as well. We sat out on their big patio and it was really nice. Service was slow though, and the crowd got a little loud towards the end of the night. But overall I’ll probably be back.
Ok, I have seen their ads on TV and the place seemed like a good one to enjoy some pizza. We were there last night (Thursday) We were greeted at the door and asked, table or booth, we had a table near the front. The place was not very busy for 6 PM, there was a large party on the patio. Our server took drink orders and we ordered the garlic bread. The bread arrived in a few minutes, it was ok but not much of a garlic taste. We ordered our pizzas, they have only one type of crust but you can order thin crust. My wife had the vegie and I had the beef, olives, and bacon pizza. Our pizzas came about the time we finished the bread. My wife said hers was very good and liked the crust, my was somewhat tasteless, very little sauce, could not taste the bacon, just no wow factor. From the ad on TV you see what looks to be a buffet, yes, it is for lunch only and cost 8.95 and you get salad, pasta and pizza. The decor in the best is a bit of a mess, like they purchase stuff at several yard sales. I do not think we will drive out to J-Town again for just their pizza, kids would like it. The server did a good job, and she does not cook the pizzas.
I personally would like to nominate Patty for Best Bartender in Louisville. She is awesome. My friends and I have become regulars there now just because of her. She is always smiling and fun…not to mention she makes outstanding cocktails.
Last night my family dined at Chubby Rays for the 1st time. The food was outstanding but service was poor. Our server Deserea was very rude. She never smiled and acted like she was annoyed the entire time we were there. We will go back but hopefully we will have better service next time.
Cold beer and great wings. They also have a pretty good live band on the weekends.
