What A Really Nice Place. OMG!Overlooked mostly because of the location! You should try the simple fare – Build Your Own Burger. Simply add the ingredients – but, surprise! You get a genuinely grilled hamburger from a quality cut of meat. A very tasty, toasted bun (try the toasted pretzel- really amazing!), built the standard way. We went on a Saturday night and received really fabulous service. Granted it was the weekend after AFTER March Madness (who knew – UCONN taking BOTH the Men’s AND the Women’s!!!)…so it was a little slow. BUT,,, nothing like I expected. Before we walked in, I thought, OMG… nothing but creepy. I was SOOOO wrong! There were locals .. yes. Golfers, after playing their last hole… having a few. A local couple, laughing it up, on the patio. And a few younger urban types at the bar watching the Masters Tourney on the multiple flat screens. And well.., there was a local nursing home walker with a four pronged cane (giggle), making her way back home before dark!All in all, very unique!Oh! And the food was fabulous! I am a regular Monday night hour sports bar guy. You know, I’m used to crappy frozen food fare …cheese sticks, pretzels and cheese…blab, blah blah. Not so much here. My buddy ordered the chicken strips and fries. Granted it was fried…but really, WOW! It was like something you’d purchase at a quality grocer and deep-fry-to-a-juicy-guilt food! Very satisfying for a hardy appetite. If nothing else, you should give them a try simply for their kind and professional nuance…a rare find these days! They’re engaging and fun…but not overly so.Be prepared for the ancient building. But newly renovated two years ago. All large flat screens at the bar. Outside on the patio, I could swear I saw JBL outdoor speakers. What a nice touch! Very clean… inside and out. Go on in and give it a try. You’ll love the service and get a refreshing kick out of the genuinely friendly locals!
