Great diner. I had my first visit to Nick & Tony’s tonight, and I had a great experience. My friend lived in Covington for a few months last year, eating at N&T regularly. he spoke very highly of it, and this evening found us in Covingto n. I had the awesome burger, which is an astounding sight. Instead of a bun, the top and bottom are two grilled cheese sandwiches, with a huge burger patty, bacon, and toppings in between. Needless to say, it was huge and a bit messy to eat, but worth every bit of it. the burger quality of meat was tops. My friend had a bacon and chicken salad double decker, which was humongous, and he rated it highly. Overall, I rate N&T as a top quality diner. the breakfast menu includes goetta plus the standards, and prices are very reasonable. the server Christina was fast, efficlent, and very friendly. In reading older reviews, I wonder people are not up to date with the current situation there. the 69% positive rating is unjustly low. I ran Nick & Tony’s at the highest rank of local diners.
Slow. They are slow slow slow. I called in an order at 10 for 11 pickup. 1115 I finally get my order. For IRS employees, 15 minutes is half our lunch break. If they can’t have it ready by 11, tell us the time it will actually be ready so we don’t waste our lunch break. I also observed an employee rolling her eyes at another customer. Unprofessional.
Check out the new location at 300 Madison ave Covington, ky. All new menuwith fresh hand pattied hamburgers and taller then ever double decker sandwiches. Great new salads, best cod in town, home made soups and daily specials. This is the new Nick and Tony’s with more seating, more variety and more value.
Meh. Worst coleslaw ever, and that says a lot. Stood in line for ever with no A/C, terrible service, and microwaved meat. Won’t be back.
Good for the money. Nick & Tony’s is certainly not your fanciest of sandwich shops, but what it lacks in grandeur it makes up for in food, price, and service. I personally have not tried a famous double decker, but I have had the Chicken Caesar (as both a salad and, upon special request, a wrap), the Chicken Gyro and the Traditional Gyro. All were quite tasty and I continue to go back for more. The only complaint I have is the layout of the restaurant itself, which is a little cramped around the register, soda machine, and ‘waiting’ area. They are usually busy around lunch time, so you can expect a small wait. However, I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for my order and they do take call-ahead orders if you’re in a rush. The staff is friendly, the food is good, and the price is cheap… What more could you ask for?
Half of a half double decker. Stood in line for 15 minutes. i ordered chicken salad on wheat.received barely a scoop of mostly egg. went back to the counter to ask for a little more chicken salad. nick or tony(not sure). stated it will cost more. i said, ‘give me my sandwich and i wont be back!’ this sandwich was 1 inch high included is the bread measurement. many of us patron there from work. i will be spreading the news.i hope this business knows there are too many options around to not satisfy your customers.
Just so-so. My husband and I stopped at N&T’s for lunch today. I was hoping that their gyro would be scrumptious. Ehhhhh…….I wasn’t impressed. Their gyro meat just didn’t have the flavor I expected and their tzatziki sauce needs a LOT of improvement. My husband had a ham and cheese double decker which he found tasty and looked freshly shaved. Our potato chips were slightly stale. I’d say, if you go, stick to the double deckers but skip the gyros. There are much better in town.
