First time to Wunderbar, and I loved it. Small bar, with a cozy atmosphere. I’m not normally one for bars, but I throughly enjoyed this one. The selection of beer was fantastic. They had sour beers (Shade by Madtree) on tap, and a few others I didn’t try. The food was fantastic. We had peirogies as an appetizer, and they were delicious. I’ve never had them previously, but my friend has and she said they were the best she’s had in a while. I had the bacon and Brie sandwhich which was so much more than I expected! She had a three cheese burger that was huge. The sides were good as well. I had the Brussels sprouts that were tender and flavorful. She had the cauliflower, which wasn’t as good, but still not terrible. Overall, we’ll be back.

Positive: Yummy! Very good German and Eastern European food. I don’t eat meat, but I can always find good food here. Delicious preztels, German mustard, red cabbage, brussel sprouts, and pirogi. Where else can you get pirogi in Cincy? Also delicious spundekas – a spicy Hungarian cream cheese and homemade sauerkraut. Always good local and German beers. Not fancy – dining on picnic tables. Just come here for the food.
Unique and Different..which is a good thing. Exterior of the place looks like any other corner bar. Once inside you step into a neat little establishment with Bavarian influence. A VW van sitting in the corner. I ordered the large pretzel with beer cheese, a feurewurst sausage, and braised cabbage. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. Soo much food. They have so many sausage choices, i just randomly picked one. This place is a must try, if your into causal dining with great food and excellent craft beers..
I love good German food and thought I might find it at Wundrabar. Upon entering, my first impression was that of a small dark downtown Covington dive bar that also serves some food surprisingly, German food like the mettwurst that I enjoyed. My braised cabbage was just OK; it needed a lot more vinegar, However, my pretzel dumpling was not; it was a large, clammy, completely bland ball of crumbled prretzels, devoid of spices that might otherwise render it authentic German cuisine.I left feeling disappointed with Wunderbar’s weak attempt at German cuisine. To be fair, my menu choices may not have been representative of Wundrrbar’s overall kitchen skills, but I’m not planning to give it another try.

Wonderful Food!. Loved the food and the friendly service! The restaurant was packed and we still received our lunch quickly. It was hot and delicious. I love the sauteed cauliflower. The restaurant was also No Smoking! We will be back.
