First time eating here. Great food with great taste. Will definitely go back. Whole family enjoyed the meal. The dumplings were great and will be back to get more!
The duk bok ki (spicy rice cake) and the seafood panjun are fantastic. Big flavors. The food overall is very good with great flavors. My only issue was the service. Very slow and not very attentive. Other then that the place is a hit.
LOVE. Arirang Garden never fails to serve the best of the best when it comes to Authentic Korean food. After eating Korean BBQ in bigger cities (Chicago & LA), while good, they are missing the authenticity that Arirang offers. The BBQ is always marinated perfectly. MY favorite is the Kalbee. The owner still cuts the Kalbee around the rib versus other restaurants using the more popular ‘LA style’, and it makes all the difference. The prices on the menu can be scary, $10-$13 for a soup and $15-$50 for the meats, but I promise it is well worth it and you won’t leave hungry.
*have eaten here several times!! Best hole in the wall restaurant!!01 Feb, 2013I haven’t eaten here several times!! I love it! Bulgogi and Dae Ji are my favorites! Delish!!
Dolsot Bop Forever. We always make a point to come here when we are in Lexington. The dumplings are great–fried or baked, you can’t go wrong. I’ve had dolsot bop many places, but this is my fav. Love the sesame seed oil that they rub the hot stone with. The spicy pork is good too. Service can be spotty, but it’s never been bad. One of these days I’ll tear myself away from the dolsot and actually try the Korean BBQ.
Never disappointed!!. Just got home from another trip to our favorite Korean restaurant! This is consistently the best Korean food we’ve ever had out! We always get the buffet and always come away so totally stuffed! The owner makes her own kimchi…. cabbage, turnip, bean sprout, cucumber, fish cake, and tofu at least. I would seriously come for just the kimchis alone — best ever, and I absolutely crave it when I haven’t had it for awhile! The bbq (grills in centers of tables) has choices of beef, tongue, pork, ribs, bacon, scallops, mussels, shrimp, chicken, and squid (my personal favorite). They also have carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, onions, and garlic to grill. They have rice, chap chae (noodle and vegetable dish), kimbap (Korean sushi), yook gye jang (spicy vegetable soup), edamame, and usually some little sweet buns and mochi for dessert. Everything is just wonderful! I always order the barley tea as welll — delicious! Plus, you will just love the owner and her family — wonderful hosts! 🙂
Pleasantly Stuffed. Have you ever had Korean BBQ? I doubt it, and I doubt you knew we had a place in Lexington to try Korean BBQ. I sure didn’t and my friend from New York wanted me to see what Korean BBQ was all about. Arirang is an unknown gem that gives the customer the opportunity to be a chef, or grill master at least. The basis is to order a certain meat that comes already marinated and has various traditional Korean side items. What separates this place from other Asian cuisines is the spices the use for the marinade. These spices woke up taste buds I never knew I had. It also is a lot of fun to grill all your food right in front of your table, something I never knew existed.A little warning though, this experience is not cheap. Entrees cost from $15-$25 depending if you select the buffet or not. But you get your money’s worth and my friend and I were walking out of the place like penguins because all the food they served. I will definitely be coming back, just with more friends to help take down the food!
