The worst part about Blue Door is that they have ruined all other BBQ for me. Best brisket I have ever had! I even had them cater my birthday party last September. Great food and great people!
Better than many, not as good as some. Visited for lunch recently with a group of 6 and barely found a seat in the small dining area-which was a good sign because the place was busy. I tried the sliced brisket sandwich plate and overall, thought the sides were as good or better than the brisket. Though a little dry, the brisket had a good smoke ring and decent flavor. The potato salad was delicious and the collard greens nice and tender. Not bad overall.
Blue Door is by the far the best bbq we have had in Lexington. I’ve eaten at many great bbq joints, many which were in Memphis, and I would put Blue Door against any of those. We are yet to try something there which was anything less than delicious. All of their sauces are also fantastic. The people are very down to earth and welcoming as well. Get there early because they do run out.
I was salivating in the parking lot because the smell was so good. The place is GREAT! The greens were perfectly tender with a rich tantalizing flavorful broth. The brisket melted in your mouth and the three choices of BBQ sauce on the table were good. I had the vinegar coleslaw which I loved and my dining mates (husband and 15 year old daughter,) had the creamy coleslaw which they devoured. It’s quick, friendly and casual – you order at the counter and meals come on a metal tray. You bus your own trays. I was tempted to try the peanut butter fudge wrapped in Saran wrap for dessert but passed. Next time! If you like BBQ go!
The best barbeque in Kentucky. Dont accept any substitutes. The brisket, the pork the turkey. Get there early for UK games and be prepared to wait, its well worth it.
Loved it! Amazing pulled pork, best I have ever had. Excellent ribs, fall of the bone, seasoned just right (not insanely salty like so many places) and still moist. The side dishes were delicious, fresh and healthy (not drowning in mayonnaise). Not much parking but we parked down the street and we came after lunch when the lunch crowd was gone. Very friendly service, obviously a favourite local restaurant, lots of suits & ties + tea shirt workers getting lunch here.
Love the pulled pork! Best pulled park we didn’t kill our selves!! Can’t beat and can’t beat price. Because of lack of seating, parking and hours get this to go when your in a hurry but be prepared to wait in line. I mean smoked so deliciously wonderful bbq sauce also. Live love love potato salad also. Can’t beat what it is for the price
