Never been dissapointed in anything I have tried. The atmosphere is great and different than anywhere else in Lexington. The food is wonderful no matter if it is brunch or dinner. Good variety of options and prices. The Brie and goat cheese dip are the perfect to start. Along with a flight of bourbon of course.

Update (August, 2017): My wife and I recently ate here for our anniversary, and we had a very positive experience. The pretzels and beer cheese is one of our favorites at Carson’s, and the sweet and spicy ribs (tossed in Sriracha bourbon BBQ, shaved jalapeos and toasted sesame seeds) is easily one of the best appetizers we’ve had in all of Lexington – juicy, tender ribs, with bold and complimenting flavors. Desserts were tasty, but fairly standard fare (Crank & Boom ice cream, and Kern’s Derby Pie). Be careful in the parking lot adjacent to Carson’s – there are multiple dips in the gravel, many of which are significant. Although I enjoyed the cuisine at Carson’s (i.e., quality ingredients, solid execution and plating), it is often the case that less is more; meaning, in my opinion, many, if not most, of the menu items are or seem to be extremely heavy dishes composed of a laundry list of ingredients (e.g., the fried soft shell crab benedict; pesto chicken sandwich). However, we plan on returning soon to try some of Carson’s signature entrees.Other items to note: We sat inside, although patio seating is available. Overall, service was good enough, the atmosphere was comfortable and the decor was intriguing and unique. The prices were higher than expected, especially for lunch.
