Not worth going. We went on a Friday night and for an hour were the only people in the place. How fresh could seafood that was precooked be with that kind of business? It was expensive… around 40 dollars for 2 and I was hungry when I left. I think you can get a better fish sandwich at subway. If you want seafood go to Palmer’s or Bonefish not here. I guess if you don’t mind spending 20 on lunch it would be okay for that… definitely not a dinner place.
Lobster mac and cheese to die for. Great service. We were greeted by the owners who were friendly but not intrusive. I ordered the lobster pot pie and my husband ordered the Mac n cheese. Both were great but especially the Mac n cheese. Great atmosphere. We will go back.
Not the same as it used to be.. First off, excellent flavor. However, shows all the signs of a failing restaurant. Portion size shrank, prices stay the same, restaurant empty downtown Lexington at 7pm. As another reviewer stated, we don’t expect it to be cheap. You’re importing lobster. That’s why we came. However, a four inch by two inch half roll, an 8 inch by two inch whole roll…no lobster present in the bisque? After we ate we gave Goodfellas one block over some business.
Portions. The food was delicious. However the portion size was extremely small for the amount of money you charge. I got 1/2 of a lobster roll and some soup and the lobster roll was like eating a slider but missing a few more sliders for $8.00. The soup was great and a satisfying portion. You are sitting on a gold mine, but you need to change the portion size on the rolls.
Do not waste your money. I was not impressed with Clawdaddy’s. Wayyy over priced for what I got. It was a hotdog bun with mini shrimps on it. It was gone in about 3 bites. 10 dollars gone *poof*
Skip Clawdaddy’s. My wife has wanted to go to this place for quite a while. She is a big lobster fan. What a disappointment! The lobster roll was a nice hot dog sized bun with not enough lobster to peek over the top. About 4 smallish pieces. I assume they weigh portions so I don’t think I was shorted. The lobster was lacking in flavor and most importantly sweetness. Skip this place.
This isn’t a $3.99 McDonald’s fish sandwich. We almost didn’t try this restaurant due to the many writeups regarding price and size, but we are very glad we went anyway. Yes, it was expensive. VERY expensive for what you get. But it’s also VERY good lobster, no filler or imitation unidentified shellfish meat. The rolls could not have been fresher, the slaw was excellent, and the lobster was great. Is $40 too much to pay for lunch in Lexington KY? Of course it is in a burger town, and sadly that’s why this place is doomed to fail. In fact we were the only people in the place the entire time we were there. But was it worth it? It definitely was to us, but we understand why this quality lobster is this expensive this far from Maine and had no issues with the price. We intend to enjoy this treasure for as long as we can.
