The food is simple in the right way. The slaw is not overly dressed, the seafood rolls are fresh and minimally prepared and the decor is bright and clean. I loved it. Was it pricey? Yes, but until Lexington borders an ocean the seafood must be flown in from Maine for freshness. Walk in and take a long, deep whiff of air and notice what you do not smell… that is what matters. Ever walk by the seafood section of the supermarket only to be taken aback by the odor? You won’t find that at Clawdaddy’s because the seafood is fresh and tasty. They would rather do it right than do it cheap. When you want to go cheap there are places for that. When you want fresh lobster on a New England style roll [which is similar to but not the same as a hot dog bun btw] with a lovely bit of claw meat stacked at the top and a side of slaw go to Clawdaddy’s. This is the best food you’ll get in a place where you feel comfortable in casual dress.
