Very friendly, great service, great prices, good portions, really like the sauces. Sides are a negative, I’m a coleslaw man, and their coleslaw was poor. Saw someone else’s baked beans, did not look good. My biggest gripe is the lack of smoke in the meat. To be honest I don’t even know where they smoke it at, or if they even do. I would rate it as pretty good based on the above pros and nice tender pulled pork (even though no smoke).
First time here on $50 cent wing day. Will not be my last. These wings were smokey and crispy also from being flash fried. Not to mention being big and juicy!! They are not sauced and are excellent without it but there are 3 options. They have a mild and sweet which is good but not my cup of tea. Then their spicy sauce is really tasty with a nice heat that doesn’t over power the flavor. Then the kicker…think they call it BamaWhite sauce. It’s a mayo based tangy white sauce with a hint of horseradish. It is awesome!!! Want to come back for a jug of this stuff!!!I also got a side of baked beans which are unique. They are sweeter made with peaches and peach preserves in them. Good but sweeter is not my thing. Anyway I can’t wait to come back here to try out the other BBQ offerings but I highly recommend the wings….especially on Wednesday.
Stopped for lunch. The smoked meatloaf special was good. The Mac & cheese was the sorriest excuse for a side I have ever come across. Plain elbow macaroni with some orange sauce I guess was supposed to be cheese?!?!?’
Awesome food and awesome people. The staff is great and the receptionist is a hotter than the food. Really recommend going here.
Awesome Burgoo. We had the Double H Burgoo at our tailgate last night and it was the best! Our friends loved it and we will certainly be having it at our future tailgates! You guys truly have an awesome recipe! This menu item should certainly win you some awards!
Pretty good. I lived down the street from this restaurant for a while and drove past it always meaning to try it. For a first try, I went with the brisket, as I’d been craving it for a while. I ordered the large brisket plate with the onion rings and baked mac and cheese (bring on the carbs!). My coworker ordered the brisket with corn pudding and mac and cheese. The brisket had the taste of a meat that had been sliced and kept in a warming tray with a liquid to keep it moist. It was moist, but was a bit crumbly and had a smooth sheen, almost deli-meat like. But it had a pretty good smoke flavor and an obvious smoke ring, so it was done right. The mac and cheese was unique, but I liked it. The onion rings were really good, too. The brisket wasn’t quite as good as I’d like, but that’s a tough one to do and the meat tends to dry out. The folks at the next table had pulled pork sandwiches that looked much better, so I imagine I’ll try it out next time. I did not care for either sauce.
Worth pulling off interstate.. Traveling through. Very tasty! Onion rings, potato salad and corn pudding were delicious. Brisket and stuffed pork chop were great. Hot BBQ sauce was not that hot, but still good. Friendly welcoming staff.
