Love their new location in Beaumont. Casual outdoor seating. Friendly service. The brisket is tender and smokey. Delicious. The Oh No You Didn’t Grilled Cheese is to die for! Not a lot of indoor seating but it’s a clean cozy space. A hidden gem in Beaumont.
Update (November, 2016): Promptly after our visit below, J. Render’s management/ownership contacted us and expressed genuine concern/interest in our experience, which was not only kind, but also exhibited outstanding customer service. With such nice customer service, we will try this place again. After multiple positive experiences at its food truck, our recent visit to J. Render’s brick and mortar establishment was a massive disappointment. Extremely dry sweet jalapeo cornbread, dry and tough pulled pork, average fries (in my opinion) and some of the worst service we have had in recent memory. Our waitress did not visit our table after our entrees were served, and only reappeared to deliver the check. My wife intended to send her pulled pork sandwich back to the kitchen, but there was literally no person to tell. I guess we could have walked it back there ourselves, but that would have been awkward, right? We will not be returning.
You need to do yourself a favor and try the new restaurant in Beaumont center. Food was fantastic and service was great. We had the barbecue platter and the oh no you didn’t grill cheese. It was delicious
Delightful Wedding BBQ. J. Render’s just catered a wedding reception for 165 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington on July 26th, and everyone loved it! We had people getting their pictures taken at the food truck they enjoyed it so much. Be careful about getting a taste of the macaroni and cheese – once you’ve tasted it, there’s no going back. The folks at J. Render’s were a delight to work with on selecting a menu within our budget, accommodating ways to have something for the vegetarians in our crowd, and giving thoughtful, thoroughly professional – and very nice – service every step of the way. We weren’t just satisfied – we were delighted.
BBQ Party. I hired J. Renders to cater a party for me for 30 people. They delivered exactly what I had ordered and delivered on time. The food was great and all of our guests were very pleased with their meal. I would certainly use J. Renders again
Catered my wedding PERFECTLY!. J. Render’s catered our wedding in August 2013. Not only was the food AMAZING at an extremely reasonable price, they worked with us to have different options for dietary issues with our family members. No one could believe that they food was from a food truck and had to keep going outside to see. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Gwen worked so hard to make everything perfect and made sure that not only my groom and I had our own meals for the night but any leftovers were packaged up for us as well. If you are looking at catering an event, even where people with special diets will be in attendance I highly recommend going with J. Render’s BBQ!
Have only been once and the ohh no u didn’t grill cheese barbecue sandwich or whatever they call it is quite possibly the most surprisingly delicious sandwich I have ever had. Simple idea put together amazing. Will be back but it will be hard for me to even try anything else on the menu. It’s that good!
